Mine is usually The Green Mile or Braveheart... Hbu?:):sleepmeditate2:
Dances with wolves,Requiem for the dream,The Ron Clark story,Total Recall,Numb to name a few.... if I had to chose one - Pelisky Cosy Dens (1999) - IMDb
Clerks.
It varies, really. At the moment, it's Bolt (yep, I'm a sucker for those kinds of movies :bravo:.)
Return of the Living Dead... For many years, I thought it was actually based on a true story because it said so at the beginning of the movie
The Hours... Watched it when it was released on DVD and though I'm now 36 years old it was the first time I understood the attraction of finding good quotes in a movie.
Clan of the Cave Bear... I wish I was Ayla. She's absolutely amazing. Even so, the movie does not do justice to the character or the full story.
The OG Star Wars... Ep 4- 6
Indiana Jones trilogy is pretty BA also (Crystal Skulls was ok... but the OG's are better)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... Blade Runner... Children of Men... Pixar.
Inception (Though it's not perfect, it speaks to me like most other movies don't.)
Braveheart
Gladiator
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Seriously. What an amazing movie.)
Children of Men
Avatar (Say what you want about the 'stolen' plot, it is the most visually arresting movie I have ever seen, and that goes a long way, to a visual person such as myself.)
Jurassic Park
The Matrix (Could very well be my favorite, out of the group..the jury is still out, though.)
And no - It is impossible for me to choose just one. :P
I still haven't seen anything that I liked better than Memento. But some close runners-up include Trainspotting, City of God, Fargo, The Departed, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and of course The Matrix. Some other notables that I've only recently seen are Bronson and Adaptation, but time will tell if they stay in my top picks. In any case they are definitely worth checking out.
I'd pretty much go with all of O's listing, but scratch outJurassic Park<- this one and put up Pulp Fiction.
Tron Legacy.
Saw it last night, and it is the best movie I have ever seen. Call me a geek.
You're a geek. Just kidding, but seriously, I've seen the advert a few times and it does look really cool. I hope it doesn't disappoint me.
As for my favourite movie, I honestly can't choose one. I've seen many great films in my life, but the sad thing is that they seem to be getting slightly worse as the years go on. I think nowadays, the creators just throw together some CGI and special effects and call it a great movie. Give me one intriguing storyline over multiple building explosions any day.
