Can't wait for the new season!! Hadn't seen the first teaser.. Awesome. I think the casting, at first sight seems pretty exciting! Though I had imagined Stannis compleeeetely different and the red lady as well, the others I can live with more. The next season s in april, right? I really hope GRRM doesn't take another 6 years before finishing the next book...

^I cannot wait either... I imagined most of the characters to be younger, which they were in the books, but I suppose I see why they made them older. I imagined Stannis to be pretty much as he's shown. As for Melisandre, I imagined her to be a bit more... red, but other than that she seems okay.

I'm sure most people disagree with me but I never liked the Daenerys actress. She just seems a bit too outspoken and 'dramatic' to me, I always feel like she's an actor and not the actual character. I get the same feeling with the Arya actor. Most people seem to like them both a lot, and I definitely see why, they both have distinct personalities, Arya is adorable, Daenerys is beautiful, but neither are believable as characters to me. Jon isn't how I imagined him to be but I like him anyway. Same with Catelyn and others.

As for this newest trailer, one thing I noticed is that Dany seems aware of the specifics of the Westeros wars. In the books, she was only vaguely aware of a rumor that they were fighting amongst themselves. Also, it's shown here, and I've read, that they decided to extend Robb's relationship and make it more of an issue that builds up, instead of the whole thing sort of being thrown at you at once from Catelyn's viewpoint as happened in the books. I won't be more specific than that to avoid spoilers. Oh and, as in the books, Tyrion is definitely my favourite character.

I've actually first seen the first three episodes before I started reading the books. So the image I had of the main characters was already formed at that point. I like Daenerys but I know what you mean... Well, I first saw the first episode with my dad and I didn't notice it, but then again with my sister and she thought her performance was somewhat ridiculous sometimes. You know in the first scene that she walks into her hot bath.. Her facial expression then is really dramatic. I only noticed the second time because my sister started laughing at that scene. I do think she's definitely better at playing the bossy & confident Daenerys then the vulnerable girl. Arya is just so adorable.. I guess not that believable as a character, yeah, but then, it's fantasy, so it's kind of typical that the characters are either too good, or too evil... So I can live with it. But yeah in comparison with the other characters they're much less complex..

I don't like them messing with the story! Dany shouldn't be aware of these things... I hope they don't change too much. They've also messed up the perspective thing in the first season, with scenes between the spider and littlefinger. I didn't like those but I guess the writers thought it necessary for the audience who don't read the books to get some insight in their characters or something.. Still, didn't like these scenes.
Tyrion yes, he's my favorite too. And I find Littlefinger an interesting character as well.

I finally bought, yes bought rather than download, GoT on DVD. It was very good. I enjoyed it a lot. It was so cute every episode my gf was like "what? They are just gonna end it like that?" Shes now reading the first book to get greater insight to the show hehe.

I do feel a lot of it wasnt explained as well as in the books (tends to happen with adaptations I suppose) Im still really excited for the second season The only thing I didnt like was we didnt get to see Tyrion actually fighting in the battle...they got around it by having him knocked out by a stray warhammer lol. Hopefully they will have a bigger budget this season so we can get some epic feel from the battles as well!

I think this season will focus a lot on battles, that's at least the impression that I had from the teasers plus ... there's much more battle in the 2nd and 3rd book as well. True, I think it must be confusing sometimes for people who haven't read the books. I showed my bf the teasers and he was like: "hmm this all seems so unfamiliar, I think I have to rewatch the first season again." I can't convince him to read the books.

Tyrion would make an excellent president.

What did everyone think of the first episode?

I watched it twice, lol, once with my bf and the other time with my dad. I didn't really like it the first time. Not much happened. I had expected more of it. But then a friend of me explained it like this: "They laid the cards on the table. Now the game can begin." And keeping that in mind while watching it made it better.

      Haha Sarcasm, right?

The last episode was all sex. It'll be so awkward watching it with my dad...

I didn't like that scene with the hooker who was crying and Baelish comforting her. I always had hopes, in the book, that littlefinger wasn't sucha bad guy anyway but now he comes across as a first class dipshit. What I also disliked was that Arya already gave away her identity to Gendry, I think that was at a way later stage in the book, and I liked the bit of no one knowing who she really was, and then the surprise when they found out.

Apart from that, great episode

I've been watching it on some crappy online stream and the last few episodes have been good. Before that I thought it was kind of slow, but I'm glad it's been renewed for a third season.

They've changed a lot from the books but it isn't bad, it's all things that could have happened so the story remains the same. I guess they're trying to make it more exciting.

Spoiler for some things different in the books:

It seems like this season just began...and now the finale?! I really love this show. Every episode, although an hour long, seems to last 10 minutes!! Cheers for tonight and to hoping Tyrion is alive (love his character...would miss him terribly if he didn't make it!).

The last episode was amazing. I'd been waiting to see how they'd do the wildfire thing since I heard the second season was coming out. It turned out almost exactly as I imagined from the books.
