In this thread we (more than likely just me) will discuss this pageant of epic proportions. The event is live at 9pm eastern time on NBC. We'll talk about our hopefuls, who's going to make the top whatever, and everyones performances in various competitions! Let's keep it clean, and keep it on topic.

I'll also start out by saying that Lauryn Hill is going to be a musical guest, but she'll be preforming old Marley songs.

How serious do you expect this conversation to be? Are their any real pageant heads on DV? Hell, is there anyone who knew this show was airing tonight before my original post? And does the rest of the world care about this pageant?

I'd definitely say some people care. Otherwise it wouldn't be the Miss USA pageant. Do I (or many others) care, personally? Not really, but it's legitimate entertainment for many. It can be considered Senseless Banter as much as anything else, but I would have just defaulted to Entertainment (like American Idol). It doesn't matter, either way. I just thought it interesting.

I don't really find the women in these kinds of pageants that attractive. They all look the same, made-up and over the top. Most of them come off as dumb bimbos who are trying to sell themselves like a piece of meat at the market.

But maybe beautiful girls are just pretty amongst ugly ones

Here are my honest thoughts so far.

"Why is every black person on the panel either a rapper, or professional athlete?"
and
"All the former Miss USA's can get it"...then they got to around 1957 and my thoughts swiftly changed.

Swimsuit is already over..the ones that stood out IMO were:

AZ
SC
AL and CA

I like the fact that FL digs old school fords, and HI was okay too.

Got caught up watching the Falling Skies premier. Doubt I'll be seeing much (or any) of the pageant.

Okay...AZ got eliminated...she was beautiful. Florida did too..but I saw that coming when she was in the group opposite of SC and HI.

So far out of the girls I picked, these remain.

SC: she talked about just making someone smile and how happy that makes her....that was cool.
AL: She survived a motor vehicle accident, and had to relearn to walk.
CA: Her hair is dyed red...and that's all she talked about =/
HI: She seem's pretty down to earth and holistic about her ideas

PS guys....the reason for this thread is to discuss the pageant itself...not your opinions of what you think about them, or what you'd rather watch.

Evening Gown competition with rap music....just not my cup of tea. Not only that...the rapper was a red bowtie away from looking like pee wee herman. The fans didn't like HI even though she was looking hot. Hopefully the judges wont be swayed by that. I knew everyone was going to go crazy over CA if she wore green....and she did. I don't have a problem with her dyed hair....I just didn't like the fact that was the only thing she bought up about herself.

Dang...missed like the rest of the entire pageant....it was CA vs. TN, and CA won. I didn't even get to see them answer all those stupid questions, so personality wise, I may never know who deserved it more.
