      Amnesia: The dark descent

      So recently I got a game called Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and I have to say, this is the only game that has successfully scared me. Everyone who is a fan of horror games or video games in general should check this game out. It's made by a bunch of independant developers (I think 5 people from Sweden who made the game from their basement). All I can say is, this beats soo many of the so called "horror" games made by the big companies.

      I think what makes this game so successfully frightening is the fact that unlike other horror games where you can use weapons to demolish the beings that hunt you, In this game you get no weapons, all you have is a lantern, and all you can do is hide from enemies who feed off of your fear of them. Just beat the game a few hours ago and loved every minute of it. The atmosphere, writing, music, everything was perfect in my opinion.

      Yeah I agree. I think another thing that makes it so terrifying is the fact that there really aren't many monsters. When there are too many monsters, you get used to them. These you never get used to. And Daniel's obvious fear (heavy breathing, etc) is kind of infective.

      I had never heard of this game until day9 (a starcraft vlogger/analyst) made a series of streams of him playing the game, with a pic of him in the lower corner so you could see his reactions. Ive had a hysterical time watching him and the game does seem pretty interesting. I like the concept and story line a lot.

      I just bought this. Played it about an hour, and once I started to really get into it, I was getting kinda creeped out. It's definately something where you have to use some imagination at first, but once it starts getting to you, it really gets to you.

      Planning on staying up all Wednesday/Thursday night playing this
