Video Games That Made You Cry

These Are the Games That Made Famitsu's Readers Cry -- Andriasang.com

I have 2 questions for you after reading that?

      1) How many of the games on that list have you played. How sad were they really?
      2) List games that made you cry

      _____

      1)

Okami: Those 3012372014871401897 hour cutscenes before the final boss were sad, where Issun was gonna leave Amaterasu forever, but instead gathers everyones prayers and whatnot.
Final Fantasy VII: Aeriths death wasnt sad!
Metal gear Solid 4: my bro claims theres a sad part I dont remember
Final Fantasy XIII: wth? that wasnt sad
ICO: hated it, never beat it, no opinion
Shadow of the Colossus: I totally understand what made people cry, I didnt though :/
      2) Oh god..... it is time to reveal my darkest secret..... the one and only game I have every cried on......

I'll post it when I see some answers. You will never believe me though...

I've never cried over a video game, but I've come close - and not always for good reasons.

As far as the games I've played, that are on the list:
      - Final Fantasy X (Didn't finish it)
      - Final Fantasy VII
      - Shadow of the Colossus

Of those mentioned, the only ones that might make my list are:
      - Final Fantasy VII (One of my favorite games ever. I wasn't really all that close to crying, but I think I was more emotionally attached to the characters in that game than in any other game I've ever played. Aerith's death, in itself, wasn't all that tragic, but it made me feel sorrier for Cloud, than anything else.)
      - Shadow of the Colossus (This one made me want to cry, because I was so extremely, terribly, horribly let down by the twisted, almost sadistic, 'kick you dead in the nuts' type of ending. Great game, though, otherwise.)

Have never cried at a game. Okami made me sad though at the end, and is the only one I've played from that list.

I played FFX and FF VII on that list and man...

FF VII I was dissaponted when it first happened but it made me hate Sepiroth more than anything. I didn't get sad untill towards the end when I was getting everyone's final limit break and I came accros Aerith's.

As for FFX meh. I remember when my roommate said word for word "you're gonna fall in love with Tidus". I laughed at him so hard. The ending left me wanting to play X2 but that's about it.

Now back to FF IV. Advent Children drops years later and their are two scenes I that movie that did it to me. The first was when cloud needs that final ally-oop to get close to the summon monster and you see Aerith's hand. Then at the end when it's raining...and it cured the gnosis for everyone. If you don't know why I got all emo on that scene was because that rain was Aerith's limit break. It's called great gospel and I got all caught up knowing she's been with Cloud all this time through all he's gone through.

Eli Vance getting slugged was pretty shocking though.

Of the games on the list that i've played:

      1)
Final Fantasy VII: Didn't cry, in fact i wasn't even that sad. Final Fantasy X had sadder moments (ending almost brought a tear to the eye lol)
Metal gear Solid 4: Never played it, but the ending of the 3rd game had me feeling pretty grim for the next few days. The soundtrack with snake standing over the unmarked grave at the end was really moving
Final Fantasy XIII: I was left with more of a "WTF just happened o-O?", rather than a sad feeling. I barely understood the plot of this
Shadow of the Colossus: Sad but I didn't cry

No game has every really made me cry, but they've had me feel very sad inside, so here's a list of games that made me feel like something in my life had been removed:
      2)
Silent Hill 2: the ending to this game was pretty moving, though the soundtrack really did a lot. Without it, it wouldn't have been nearly as effective
Mass Effect 2: when i finished the game, i got the perfect ending, but watching everyone die on youtube and having joker give the report at the end was pretty heart wrenching
Majora's Mask. Some parts of MM were pretty grim, namely the thought that as the moon was falling in the last few minutes, Anju was waiting in her room for Kafei to return, but because i had mucked up the side mission he was never coming home. Again the soundtrack did wonders for this game

I've played a ton of games....too many really. I only play PC games now, but I loved my Playstations when they were still alive.. R.I.P

I've never cried at a game before, but ones that have a more emotional feel.

Shadow of the Colossus---Many others mentioned this above. The whole game just feels like a dream. I played it over and over when it first came out and haven't since, but I still remember that amazing feeling when you played it. The ending was quite sad. I wanted more, more, more from this game! But it was great.

Mass Effect series---These are my favorite games. They're like interactive movies and the character development is pretty good. You really feel like you're doing something badass and worthwhile. The games can get sad if you start losing squadmates at the end of the second game...and that sucks... I lost Garrus my first play through. I'm going to play through in a month or so and take my time, do every side mission so everyone survives, and make sure no one dies. Mass Effect 3 coming soon!

Metal Gear Solid 4---Soooo many damn cut scenes, but my god, near the end of the game you seriously get the feeling that Snake has been through hell and it's a special feeling if you've played the others as well.

Mirror's Edge---Again, this didn't make me cry, but there's a special feeling when you play it. The soundtrack is top notch and the whole atmosphere of the game is really great. It's just a game that will stand out from the others I've played and I will remember it.

Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway--- In my opinion, the best WWII game ever made. It draws you in. You really feel attached to the characters in this game. When something terrible happens...you feel it.

Mass Effect 2 when I saw how much they dumbed down the upgrade/customization system.

Also Red Orchestra 2 when I saw how much they dumbed down tanks and reduced recoil on machine guns making it stupid easy for newbs. That game was supposed to be realistic, tactical warfare, not COD with tanks.

Also when my mom threw away my copy of starcraft broodwar.

the evil ending of infamous two almost brought a tear to my eye
"For a long time it gave me nightmares, having to witness an injustice like that. It was a constant reminder of how unfair this world can be, I can still hear them taunting him. 'Silly Rabbit, Trix are for kids!'... How come they just couldn't give him some cereal?"

When they cut the development team for KotOR 3 and decided not to make it, I almost cried.

But when I finished the book "Revan" (which closes off the storyline of KotOR and KotOR 2, and then leads into SWTOR) I did actually shed tears. It was a horrible but wonderful ending, which was only enhanced by the number of times I've played through both of the KotOR games (at least 4 times, each.)

But seriously. HOW DO YOU NOT MAKE A KotOR 3 after you win dozens of GOTY awards, as well as the hearts and minds of your fervent franchise followers?!

Oh God, Ever 17 got me SO close. Tsugumi's good ending... The game is really not so much a game, more like a book with plot choices. But even so, everyone needs to go play it.
