For good puzzles and a bit of exploration, I'd recommend any of the Monkey Island games. If you like point and click adventures anyway. If you do like point and click games you could try Grim Fandango (which goes cheap on ebay nowadays and is one of my favourite games of all time).

Or there's a really good claymation point and click puzzle/adv game called The Dream Machine. You can play the first chapter free in browser and it's really good.

Have you tried Tomb Raider - Legend or Tomb Raider - Underworld? They seem to fit your requirements exactly. A lot of exploring, not much fighting, good graphics, different, a lot of puzzle solving. The earlier ones have even better puzzle solving but the graphics aren't as good.
