What is your favorite gaming console and favorite games?

Hey guys, Just wanted to post a thread about video games. For starters I like Sony and Nintendo. My favorite video game series is The Legend of Zelda and Kingdom Hearts. I like old school games new games, I also like PC gaming. I'm getting into the Final Fantasy series. I don't know too much of the Final Fantasy series but I have played some. And I want to play Final Fantasy XIII Versus so bad. And I like RPG's, shooters, horror, adventure and fantasy games. What do you like?

I very much like open world games like The Fallout series, GTA series, and Skyrim (I didn't like Oblivion at all), and games that makes me think e.g. Blocks That Matter, Greed Corp, Limbo, Portal etc. I play a lot of indie games since they are often a lot more innovative and creative than most games. Some of the best indie games I have played are World of Goo, The Tiny Bang Story, Trine, Super Meat Boy, Lume (even though it is very short), Gish, Bastion, The Binding of Isaac and the best indie game I have ever played is Braid. You should definitely look that up!
Right now I play LA Noire and enjoy it very much - also a game to look up since it uses a groundbreaking new technology called MotionScan, which makes the expressions on faces look very real.

I'm a PC man, I like Tripwire interactive games like Killing Floor and Red Orchestra. I also like the Elder Scrolls series overall (I also thought Oblivion was kind of a stinker but I loved Morrowind and Daggerfall)

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

I've always been more of a Bioware fan when it comes to Western RPGs (I find Bethesda don't tell stories as competently, though i still enjoy the Fallout series). Favourite console is probably the PS2 (if only for its huge back catalog of games). Favourite games? Silent Hill 2, Final Fantasy IX, Metal Gear Solid 2, Kingdom Hearts, TF2 and the Mass Effect series are the first to come to mind. Currently i'm re-playing Dragon Age and remembering why i love that game so much, so i'd probably consider it a favourite as well. I have too many favourites hehe

Bioware's pretty sweet, too. I loved KOTOR and Mass Effect. I didn't really like Dragon Age, though.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

My gaming platform of choice is the PC. I'm too new to the scene to have played on earlier consoles, and modern consoles mainly have what PCs have, not much more, so I stick to the PC. My PS3 goes unused aside from being a nice bluray player.

      I love games with
--spectacular story lines and / or atmosphere, such as the mass effect series and the elder scrolls series. (I don't get why people dislike oblivion, I thought it was a great game, I enjoyed it more than morrowind, though I enjoyed both. Morrowind had a rather empty feel to it, again, atmosphere. Skyrim takes the lead though. Only downside is that it's way too short compared to the earlier games. Haven't played arena or daggenfall.)
--great sandbox elements, most of which consists of minecraft for me at the moment.
--arena shooters when chilling on voice chat with friends of mine. Mostly TF2 and CSS.
--indie games like VVVVVV, Super meat boy, binding of isaac, magicka I enjoy. Random releases that have either long lasting gameplay / challenge appeal or multiplayer value.
--semi-realistic racers like the dirt series and such. Need for speed is too arcade for my tastes.

Playstation 1 all day every day. The games, the feel, the atmosphere, the sound when you start it up.

Now im on ps3, its alright... would love to get back into pc gaming though, just dont have the time or money for that. I think technology is snow balling to the point a console would go out of date in about 3 years, so pc gaming is where its at from now on imo, if you're willing to keep updated that is.

I'm not sure what my favourite console would be, I grew up on the Genesis and PS1 but the Xbox 360 really got me into gaming. Favourite games being the Dead Space Series, Bioshock.. and anything Bioware. I must have played both Mass Effects at least 3 times and both Dragon Ages twice. Even though DA2 isn't all that good. Recently bought Kotor on a steam sale but haven't gotten round to putting a lot of time into it.

Lucasarts have always made good point and click adventure games that I love, the Monkey Island series, Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle

Morten is completely right on the indie games too, Braid is incredible. I really enjoyed Limbo and Super Meat Boy, currently playing Binding of Isaac.

      Hmm where do I start...

I have a PS2 with quite a few games and which I still play. I just finished doing a Lets Play of The Simpsons Hit and Run, and I have plans to complete Fatal Frame 2.
I also have a GameCube which I use to play Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil Remake.
I recently bought a DreamCast to buy Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure. I know these games are on this generation of consoles, but I bought it for DreamCast because I've always wanted the system.
As for PS1 games (which I mostly play on my PS3) include Dino Crisis and Resident Evil.

I really want a gaming PC but I don't really have the money right now to get one. For now I use my laptop to play some older 1st person shooting games like Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear, Midtown Madness (a driving game). As for new(ish) games I have The Sims 3 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 which both run nicely on my laptop.

I do most of my gaming on my PS3 which has so many great exclusives. Some of my favorite exclusives are Heavy Rain (see my avatar), Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Warhawk, Journey, etc. My favorite multiform games are the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Grand Theft Auto 4, Dead Space, etc.

I have thought about getting an Xbox 360 but the only exclusive I like is Trials HD. I'm super jealous of that game, but I don't want to spend a lot of money to get another console. I have seen them used for around $70, but I don't want to get it for just one game. If it had more backwards compatibility, then I might of bought it because there are still some older Xbox games that never came out to PC which I want to play.

I could go on, but I probably wrote too much already.

My favorite system of all time is Sega Dreamcast. It was the one of the only systems that offered so many arcade perfect fighting ports (the other was neo geo but that crap was hella expensive) Online and 4 controller compatible out of the box was awesome. The little memory cards were pretty cool too. The system was really ahead of it's time.

I enjoyed the NES and SNES due to load times and the fact they were packaged with great games. I also liked the GBA, but I hate the fact that it was such a short lived system.

      Favorite games are

      Mass Effect series
      Fallout 3
      Chrono Trigger
      Kingdom Hearts series
Most of the final fantasy games pre XI
      Capcom vs series
      3D GTA series
      2D Metroid, Mario, Castlevania series
      God Hand
      Max Payne
Oblivion was cool. Lost interest with skyrim

Mass Effect is hands down my favorite. Crap ending in 3 and all. I'm sure the choose your own adventure thing will be duplicated in the future. It's such a revolutionary thing, but it makes so much sense. Games have always been like books that the reader could control, but it was based on a set path. Now it's totally up to the gamer and I really love that. Now all they need to do is make something else like that but include time travel and multiple endings. Just wow.
