Thread: What Youtube Video Are You Watching Right Now?

I hate lawns. I don't understand why we're forced to have them. Because some unenlightened people think that it looks better (or more likely, scared of looking out of place, different, or not like their neighbors)? And even though I don't own my own house and yard, I've always felt this way. When I do finally own one, I'm going to try everything I can to avoid an HOA that forces me to have a lawn. I want a FOOD FOREST... a garden of edible trees, weeds, shrubs, and vines. Not a vegetable garden (although a small one might be fun), and definitely not a lawn.

This game was so much fun. I remember sometimes me and my friend Rachel would play together. One of us would take the arrow keys and jump, and one would shoot the gun. (warning: a little violent)

Very sensory pleasant...my grandma did have to cook with wood in the mountains. Apron comes handy, and girl shes strong with those heavy dishes...now washing the dishes probably needs a wheelbarrow to carry them to the nearest river..that's another story

I only watched a couple seasons, but I thought this show was really good. I really love the main character. The actor did a really good job.

In Iceland, they claim to have "eradicated" Downs syndrome due to a near 100% abortion rate of these babies - often, as the mother doesn't get a confirmation until later, they are "late-term abortions". I could show you what that looks like, but I don't think anyone here would want to see that. Cruel would be an understatement. Expectant mothers are given a false picture of what Downs syndrome life is like; they are told that it is best to terminate. They are pressured. Additionally, in many places, it's permissible to terminate Downs babies way past the point that neurotypical babies can be terminated. I call that discrimination against people with disabilities. I've had the pleasure of working closely with two students with Downs. One, a girl for a couple months before I became a teacher. I was her para (the person who stays by her side all day at school, helps her). I think she taught me more than I taught her! Currently, I work with a boy with Downs, he is one of my students. I love him dearly. They are such happy kids. Unfortunately, in many countries, they are disappearing.
I'm just grateful Autism Speaks () has been unsuccessful in finding a definitive genetic marker for autism, and therefore can't prenatally screen for it... yet (only 1% of their fundraising money actually goes toward helping families with children with autism. Most goes toward genetic research). As a mother with a son with autism, I can say... they will never get another penny from me.
