I saw the trailer for it, looked pretty interesting. So the book was pretty good? I might read it if it is, before I see the movie. |

I enjoy David Mitchell's books and Cloud Atlas was the second of his that I've read. However, I've always felt that putting this on the screen would inevitably be a bad idea. Not to mention, Tom Tykwer has a widely over-inflated conception of his creativity and intelligence, which often results in confused, pretentious and unconvincing films. Nevertheless I love the book so I'll be in the theater to check this out when it comes out later this month -- Release Date: October 26, 2012 |

I'm in the fourth chapter of the book....been reading the ebook on my comp but I think I just need to head to the library and pick it up. It seems okay so far. As long as they nail Frobisher, I would be pleased. He's my favorite character so far. |

What an extremely confusing and disjointed trailer. |

That's pretty much how the book has been so far. |

No! What are you thinking? Movie before book, whenever possible. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Okay I couldn't help myself and I saw the movie today ;_; it was really good and confusing at some points. I am def going to read the book now, which I know it is stupid that I saw the movie first. But I'm going to go with it, obviously the movie couldn't get everything in the book so hopefully it will be a good read. I can only imagine how much more intricate the book is. Plus, now I have some visuals of the characters...right? I'm quite confused as to how the book is going to be set up, as the movie was so sporadic....but oh well. Hopefully they have it at the library. |

I just saw the movie today and liked it! I haven't read the book yet, but I do look forward to that read. Maybe, having seen the movie will help with the confusion (if I didn't know the basic story, prior to reading it). |

From the darkness, a beauty arises; a mystery, seeking the light~
Ooooh, Cloud Atlas is one of my favorite books! I saw the movie last weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. It was a little bit melodramatic at times, but they nailed Part 2, which was my favorite, so I think that made up for it. |

I haven't read the book yet, I figured I'd go and see the movie first (and I really liked it!). |

Fell asleep in the movie. Maybe the book is more worthy of my attention? |
