Cool Who Want's To Learn To Play Guitar?

Hey! I hope you all had a great Christmas and that you'll have a great day today of course, but if you liked the Guitar Hero games and if you have an electric guitar but want to find a fast way to improve, well this will be great day!

Ok I am going to stop sounding like an advertisement now, but what I will show you know is so awesome that no further promoting is needed!

Guitar Hero + Electric Guitar + Guitar Teacher and Tuner = ?

      ...

      Rock Smith!

It's so awesome, I can finally start advancing my guitar skills on my own.

I hope that this inspires someone, now I am of to play Plug in baby by Muse!

I use the Ultimate Guitar website, it's quite simple, and tabs are easy to read IMO...
I also tried that song a while ago, I can play some of it but I never stick to one thing... I want to learn "Strange Highways" by DIO, as it's quite a slow riff it should be easy enough, but I don't have my guitar with me

Yeah I used to play the tabs on Ultimate Guitar as well, but now learning guitar is like playing a game, because it is a game. ^-^

But ultimate guitar is a really good site if you want to learn to play guitar online, but if you ever get the chance i definitely recommend Rock Smith.

Looks cool, yet very simplified. Considering I only like to play classical or spanish guitar I really doubt one could learn it from a game unless it was going really slowly.
None the less, it looks fun and it probably provides a good basis for people wanting to learn guitar.

      Yes it does

I have already went from not being able to hold the chords without looking (and find the frets), to bend, slide, tremolo, the blues scale (now without looking at the strings) in just a week!

And of course learned to play lots of new songs, on a beginner level but still.

This is pretty neat; especially for the younger generations that may have started playing guitar because of games like guitar hero. It seems like a familiar way for someone who is completely new to the instrument to begin to play it more naturally, rather than struggle with sheet music or tablature.

I learned what little I know from ultimate-guitar tabs, but they really didn't help me learn anything about the instrument itself and the notes I was playing. Being able to play your favorite songs with this seems easy enough, but knowing the theory behind what you're playing seems like a task that the game may have trouble teaching.

I guess when you hit that wall, you know you're ready to move on from rocksmith to sheet music or learning about theory, but I definitely think this is a fun and familiar way for beginners to move from the virtual notes to playing the real thing
