      Top 10 Favorite Videogames

What are your top ten favorite videogames? This, obviously, includes any genre and platform.

      Mine are, in general order:
[list][*]Fallout[*]Fallout 2[*]Star Ocean: The Second Story[*]Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[*]Half-Life[*]American McGee's Alice[*]Doom (only the original three episodes. Thy Flesh Consumed sucked, and so did Doom II, Final Doom, and Doom 3)[*]Blood[*]Theme Hospital[*]Under a Killing Moon
      [list]

My current favorite game, by FAR:

Battlefield 2 (it just looks so incredibly sexy with all the graphic settings turned up)

old timers: (taking into consideration how much I liked it at the time, now how fun or how good it looks now).

      1. Warcraft II
      2. Roller Coaster Tycoon I
      3. Age of Empires
      4. Max Payne I & II
      5. Civilization I & II
      6. Sim City II
      7. Super Mario Bros. (SNES)
      8. Counter Strike
      9. Command & Conquer: Red Alert
      10. Street Fighter

EDIT: After reading Theme Hospital from your list, I remembered that I played that game too. It is definately one of my top picks too hehe. Bloaty Heads among some other diseases and the way the doctors "cured" them was just too funny to believe.

I would probably rearrange that list, and maybe even add/remove some games if only I could remember what games my computer had 9 years ago. hehe...

By the way, does anyone else here play Battlefield 2?

I couldn't be bothered listing them in any order but anyway...

      Metal Gear Solid
      Dues Ex
GTA Vice City (San Adreas is probably better but I haven't played it)
      Worms World Party
      Elastomania
      Pokémon Yellow
      Triplane Turmoil
      Liero

I find it amusing to note that I pirated most of these (not Pokémon, and not Triplane or Liero because they're freeware (great games BTW, check them out)).

      Gah! Bite your tongue!

Seriously though, Doom is the be-all-end-all of FPSers as far as my dad and I are concerned. It's what started it all for us. When it first came to a console, we would play it on the weekends until the wee hours of ... well, Monday. ^^;; I miss those days. Recently, before I left the States, I convinced my dad to pick up Halo (he had an Xbox but no Halo). He seemed to really enjoy it a lot and it was fun to team up with the old man again. ^_^

      Ahhh nostalgia!

The first three episode of the first Doom were the only original parts of Doom, and will always be the best. Knee Deep in the Dead, Shores of Hell, and Inferno all the way. Thy Flesh Consumed and Hell on Earth (Doom II) were just a bunch of the same thing. Doom II was good for deathmatching, though.

Doom III was just garbage. A gorgeous engine, though. I hope Quake IV is better.

I've tried to get my dad to play FPSs with me, but he just flat out sucks. He's a big MMO guy, though. The bastard has WOW. But hopefully soon, after I get my new(ish) computer, I'll be able to play too. In the mean time, I'm going to get Ragnarok Online tomorrow when I'm back on broadband, and play the crap out of it.

I refuse to play Halo, simply becuase I hate Microsoft. ;P No, I'm just not going to play the XBrick version. We touched an XBrick once, and it burns us. However, I may get it for PC one of these days

I'm more of a Half-Life kid. As soon as I get my new computer (Soon, thankfully), I'm going to get HL2. Oh, god, that game gives me shivers its so perfect. I can't wait to play it, I can't wait to play mods for it, and I can't wait to mod and map for it.

For anyone who hasn't seen screenshots of Battlefield 2, here's some goodies that were run on my rig. I just spend plenty of money during the summer since my previous compie had died. Thus, I'm happily able to run this bear of a game on all high settings.

      AMD 64 3200
      Nvdia 6600GT

I love things like this. I'll have to find a similar one about music.

Anyway, in no particular order (but Hengband is suitably No. 1)...

      (1) Hengband
      (2) Unreal Tournament 2004
      (3) Civilization II
      (4) RollerCoaster Tycoon II
      (5) Doom
      (6) Duke Nukem 3D - but I've never owned it...
      (7) Samurai Warriors because although it's not of purely excellent nature I'm playing it now so it's a temporary addition
( 8 ) Half Life 2 (..I suppose.. but it has zilch replay value - saying that, Garry's Mod is a lot of fun)
      (9) Zillions Of Games because although a zillion is stretching it it has around 1000 (no kidding) games it can play
      (10) i'm sure I'm missing some fine classics here but it'd be either Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 or Soul Calibur 2.

Edit: Having read the rest of the lists, I realise I've missed both the GTA:SA and Final Fantasy V from the list. Only I never got out of Grove Street in GTA:SA (I suck at games in general) and FFV although the most enjoyable FF (if not the most emotional - actually, I was pretty swept away with VIII) I never completed.

And Half Life 2 although on my list recieved much more praise than it deserved. A great one-off experience only. Rather like... uh... any Final Fantasy? And Donnie Darko, but that's not a game.
