Just curious if anyone else plays this epic game? Let me know if you do
I don't play it but I heard about the epic battle that happened. I'm on r/eve right now still reading about it because I think it's that cool. I even made a facebook post about it.
(Frankly I'm not masochistic enough to play it. 1fps for 11 hours? No thanks. Devote hundreds of hours to afford a ship only to get it ripped apart over some random accident or mistake? No thanks. $15 a month? I can't even find a good reason to hold a job in order to afford rent right now.)
That being said, I think it's a very cool game and it's setting a precedent that many other devs are currently modeling their in progress games after. It's completely changing the face of MMOs and with them, the world. B-R5RB showcases Eve's potential as a game to near replicate the vast interest of the real world. Reading about how this particular event started, where both alliances came from, how their conflict has progressed and where it's going from here is nothing short as interesting as World War 2.
We just need to upgrade the technology to stop lag and play using virtual reality and we won't need IRL anymore.
What alliance are you on? (Also I edited that post)
You just showed up to the system to watch them duke it out?
Hell I would have. Actually if I played that game I'd probably be in some random pirate corp hanging out at a nearby asteroid field waiting for some unlucky SOB to flee and jump right into my awaiting ambush. Bandits always come out of shit like this a little richer.
What have you been drifting toward?
I only play rarely when I have the time, but since I've recently found DV I'm having more fun here!
When I do play, I usually just place regional buy orders for all sorts of crap and haul it to Jita (the central trade hub). I mostly trade in pirate tags...it's pretty good money. Hauling is a good profession for getting drunk and watching Netflix/Hulu/YouTube on the other monitor. I got in trouble once for making a pitstop in a dead-end low-sec system for a 1-million margin profit item. I got blown up immediately upon jumping into the system. Luckily I warped my pod to station before it got popped. I spent the next hour waiting for local to clear of the hostile corp. Gate camps are awful when a jump-gate is the only way for interstellar travel.
As for the current war, I'm rooting for the destruction of CFC. Not really for any alliance in particular to win, it's just that I don't want null-sec politics to be dominated by a single entity. I think it would be bad for the future of the game.
Also The Mittani is a douchebag. He doesn't even play the game, he just uses it for real money through ads on his website. And the only reason people go to his website is because he leads CFC (in name only, because he doesn't play).
