      Pretty much.

I have sound-to-color synesthesia, in other words I get sensations of color and shape when I hear something, and that does inform my music tastes and makes my taste in music odd at some points.

The best example is probably music like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKsZ-QgpnSY, crazy mashups of a bunch of different songs and soundbites. The best I can explain it is that it is basically like fireworks. Wild mixes of color. If I wasn't synesthetic I suspect I wouldn't enjoy this weird "genre" at all.

And then there's one of my favorite albums: Yenisei Punk by Yat-Kha, which I like because it is some of the darkest music (colorwise) I have ever heard.

      LabyrinthDreams, this is really interesting!

I didn't think to mention this in this thread but I have pitch-color synesthesia too. It just doesn't affect my musical tastes in any way.

Well, I feel like I am the only 32-year-old guy who still regularly listens to Aqua's album "Aquarium".
It may be a really cheesy album overall, but the songs are actually really catchy and have a generally positive vibe.
They also hold up extremely well when you play them on piano, so the core melodies are great.

      I'll listen to Tupac's "Hit'Em Up" right after Nsync's "This I Promise You." I don't G.A.F.

everything, but never really in the mood for traditional Indian music. Russell Peters is good.

Yes. I listen to a lot of Cryo Chamber on my noise cancelling headphones. Ambient meditational. Or other atmospheric relaxation kind of stuff on youtube. Sometimes nature stuff. But I most often go to Cryo Chamber.

As a traditional goth, it is hard to find goth music, it is often not labeled as such. Then hey, I guess I can watch Naruto on Netflix. Opening song first season, is really good. It is Hound Dog Rocks. So I am all over the place, kind of.

Kinda depends on the genre, I do listen to artists that aren't necessarily mainstream, but still known by many people.
Then there are some genres that aren't as common within my personal circle, such as Trip-Hop (Every time I talk about this genre to my friends, they think I made this name up lol)

Then there's vaporwave, its subgenres, and Internet music in general, which is just complicated lol
Vaporwave is still easy to explain to younger people to some extent, but everything for beyond that, you got to listen to it yourself and decide whether it catches your interest or not.
