Singer-songwriter, Sufjan Stevens (pronounced "soof-yawn") recently released his critically acclaimed album (http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/st...sufjan/illinois) entitled Illinois (aka. Come On! Feel The Illinoise!).

I have to recommend it to every music fan on the forum. It's a spectacular, expansive work that just might blow your mind. The more you listen, the more you come to appreciate the subtlties and intricate details of this fantastic album. It's difficult to categorize it into a specific genre...but I would put it in the "Indie Folk" category if pressed.

The 50 States
This album is the follow-up to the also critically acclaimed 2003 release, Greetings From Michigan!: The Great Lake State!. These 2 albums are the first two in his project to record a tribute album to each of the 50 states. Isn't that absolutely insane? Reportedly, the next 2 states on his to-do list are Oregon and Rhode Island, so keep your ears out for that.
