Okay this is a big post, but I spent many hours and a significant amount of emotional resources to write this. I also spent some effort to decide on whether I should post a particular piece or not. If a Martian came to me and asked me "hey.. I kinda like this music thing... What do you suggest?", I would probably just show this post and say no more. After writing this I was surprised at how much good music I knew If you want more of any of this music, tell me and I can give you more.

I can be all of those or neither of those.
Those were aimed at the general population, not at you. Also, even though I do not apologise for this misunderstanding, I don't blame you either. Misunderstandings happen, it's alright.
ololol figurefly, do you even know the fish slapping dance or did you just want to vote something? Actually I must confess, I don't do it either... I just watch it regularly... I used to listen to Ludovico Einaudi a lot, btw. Knowing you, you probably won't mind me not listening to anything you posted. The point was "I like different kinds of stuff", right?
BlairBros, Not Forget is a pretty damn good song! In the beginning I was like "I usually don't agree with this usage of the violin, but this is cool", and, "hmm not bad, this is nice", and when they started rocking hard somewhere at the 8th or 9th minute, I went "HELL YEAHH!!! This is some goooood stuff".
Awoken by Anopheli was nice, I might listen to this while tripping on mushrooms. When it ended I felt like I had just experienced something epic. :O
I don't know if you feel like I do about classical music. It is, unlike most music, not repetitive. It is not a good tune repeated over and over. It is very similar to a story, because you can not start in the middle, you can not end it in the middle, you will miss something, just like you can't do with a book. As much as I like Bullet For My Valentine, and although it DOES have this sense of progression (maybe progression is a better word than story, but I like story more), but it's lacking a bit, in some songs they do it better than in others. System of a Down does this much better, in the 3 songs I listed. Do you know what I mean? The beginning of the song is not the same as the end and every time a part is repeated different it's somehow different. The weird thing and the gaping hole in this way of thinking is that, in some music there is less story and more repetitiveness, but somehow that makes it better. Maybe I would understand this if I got into the literature of music theory.
I may look into The Gentle Storm one day, but not for this post, an entire album is too much to listen to now and give my opinion. Okay, now get in a quiet place, plug in your best headphones because it's time for some awesome music! Also, the violin will get more love than other instruments. Don't forget to set them at the highest quality. May sound trivial, but some people neglect it so, yeah.
It's been a long time since I listened to this. But damn this is good stuff Sweet Child O' Mine on Violin / Fiddle
The first few times I heard this I felt like I was experiencing a revelation. A standard of music making that few people even dreamed of.. La Folia by Corelli played by George Enescu
Go to this page to find out what this piece did to me. Though now I find it boring enough to even play...
Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia for Cello and Violin
I have a different version of the same thing, played by 2 musicians who are regarded by pretty much everyone who knows anything about that era to be legendary status. And the interesting thing is, I don't know which one I find better (or worse), this or the random dude in the above link. Passacaglia by Jascha Heifetz and Gregor Piatigorsky
This is one of the most favorite things to play for most classical violinists, as far as I know. Bach concerto for 2 violins by Heifetz and his student Erick Friedman, second movement.
This, is NOT classical, this is pure romance. 2nd movement of Mendelssohn's violin concerto by George Enescu.
This is either where classical and romantic music overlap (Beethoven lived smack in the middle of that transition from classical to romantic), or where I am ignorant about the distinction between the 2. Beethoven's violin concerto's second movement. I included the last part of the cadenza of the first movement, I felt it was an appropriate introduction. So the real thing starts at about 22.50 (it lasts for about 9 minutes, then the third movement starts)
A bit more modern, but this was my favorite piece 4 years ago, and now that I hear it again I get chills all over. The violinist plays it so beautifully and skillfully... Runty by Ann Marie Calhoun and her brother
Now for some guitar.
Something by Juan Serrano
A Malaguena by Sabicas ("a" Malaguena, not "A Malaguena")
Cello.
A Serenade written by Franz Schubert I am listening now, and.. The sadness The sounds of the cello...
This was for some time one of my favorite things to listen to. A Spanish dance written by Enrique Granados, I think this was originally for piano solo.
Right now, I just shed some tears while listening to this. I now that I sound dramatic and emotional, but it's been a while since I listened to this and I'm in an especially good, open minded, open-to-feel-strong-emotions mood and I'm also clear headed, allowing me to clearly express myself. Pau Casals, Song of the Birds
On piano it sometimes genuinely sounds like there is some wizardry going on
La Campanella written by Liszt, inspired by the third movement of Paganini's 2nd violin concerto.
Here is that movement played by Ivry Gitlis.
More from Gitlis, he was my number 1 favorite violinist for quite a while.
This paragraph was supposed to be only piano, but what the heck. A capriccio-valse (capricious dance?) written by Wieniawski
A lousy pun: "speaking of wizardry...." Harry Potter's theme played by a wizard. And yes, every sound you hear is also pushed in by his fingers on the video, I had my doubts but I listened and looked carefully.
Unfortunately, A/V is out of sync, A Mazurka written by Chopin.
A charming waltz by Chopin, played charmingly by the wonderful Alfred Cortot.
Some metal now.

Serj Tankian's voice seems like something special and I'm curious about listening to his solo albums and more of System of a Down. Something about it being gritty while remaining rich in sound?
Singers!
It's Japanese, but it's about the music, right?Hotaru by Chihiro.
Sen no kaze ni natte by Maki Mori
Karatachi no hana by Maki
I just found this, it's quite amusing
A wiegenlied by Mozart
This has a really nice feel to it.. A serenade, it doesn't say who wrote it.
This one sounds humorous The whole description is in Japanese.
A singer/violinist duet. The song "Erbarme Dich" from Bach's piece (Wiki says "sacred oratorio") St Matthew Passion The same piece different people. Here, the intro by the singer is more powerful, but for some reason it gets boring after 3 minutes, while the other one carries you along the journey and it somehow becomes more dramatic. Something about the old video is just better, and that something is hugely important. I wonder how much beauty of sound is lost by it being recorded so many decades ago.. Or maybe it's just that, if the opening is so damn powerful, the rest is boring in comparison?
A short little duet.. A waltz by Brahms, many people will recognise this melody.
The same piece but just the singer (accompanied by orchestra). La valse des regrets by Brahms.
Very soothing, Little Bird by Lisa Hannigan
Knots, by Lisa
A duet by the dude who sang the waltz and someone else.
A song by someone else
Why not some anime music? xD
A fan cover of Neon Genesis Evangelion music
Howl's Moving Castle theme by the same duo
A heavy metal soundtrack from my favorite anime, Gintama
Finally something you might dance to. Time's Scar from Chrono Cross
Uhmmm, what should I say about this? I feel like my words are have become vacuous. Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross
Another heavy metal soundtrack from Gintama
A cover of The Song from Gundam Seed
By the same group, Canta Per Me from Noir I like this more than the original.
From a strange and creepy anime, Somewhere I belong
Fake Jewel and Love Pain are also from that anime
Now for some Bleach! My second favorite anime, it had some mexican flavored music too..Clavar La Espada, Escalon, La Distancia para un duelo, Furyxx playing Never meant to belong, B07a, something with cello and orchestra, Nothing can be explained, Nube Negra.
Some symphonic...
You will know whether you're going enjoy to it or not quite soon. Brahms concerto for violin and cello
This is fun right from the start! I wonder who will disagree. Mozart's 40th symphony.
Mozart's 39th symphony
Mozart's sinfonia concertante
Misc.
Frog by Carbon Based Lifeforms
Just start this album by Emancipator, almost every piece is good and I don't feel like finding the ones I like slightly more. The first one is really good, so you can always just listen to the first few minutes. I wouldn't mind if people use this for studying... I doubt that I would do it though.
This got out of hand, I posted way too much and spent way too much time on this.. But what the heck! XD It's been interesting, going through almost the entirety of my musical tastes. After all this music my brain has turned to mush. I was so clear minded before starting this... I'm drained and I think I got enough music out here.
edit: I forgot Crash Bandicoot music, Devil May Cry music, some other game music, which are awesome, but fuck it. Just fuck it. I spent more than 6 hours on this post, you know? I'm DRAINED.
