That was garbage. This show, on the other hand, is absolutely fantastic, appealing to all people of all ages. Apparently Lauren Faust has a deviantart page, and on there she actually links to unofficial uploads of MLP:FiM episodes on YouTube. What this means is that you can totally watch this show for free and legally. So you should. Because it's awesome. Here's some quick background on the show! Main places: Ponyville - where most things take place, home of earth ponies. Cloudsdale - this is where the pegasus ponies live and also where rainbows and clouds are made Main characters: Twilight Sparkles - a unicorn pony with magic abilities. She is an apprentice of princess Celestia Applejack - hillbilly earth pony who works on an apple farm Rainbow Dash - a lesbian tomboyish pegasus pony that can fly really fast Pinkie Pie - an insane earth pony who is basically overdosed on sugar all the time. Some compare her to Bubbles from the Power Puff Girls Fluttershy - an ultra shy pegasus pony. She's really good with small animals Rarity - a very self conscious and fashionable unicorn pony Spike - a baby dragon that can send messages to other dragons. Works for Twilight Sparkles Now, you can either watch the first two episodes and get the whole background on what is going on, if you feel intrigued. If you aren't quite convinced that this is the best show ever to exist, you should instead watch Sonic Rainboom, which is supposedly the best episode so far. LINKS! hahahaha ^^ I like cartoons, especially crazy ones like this -clicks on episode 1-... heheheh It's one of the more entertaining kid shows that I've seen in a long time. I guess it was done by the wife of the guy who created Power Puff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. My favorite part is how, unlike most TV shows for little girls, the characters aren't more or less the same character with small differences. They're extremely varied in their personalities and values and it creates some interesting conflicts. One of my favorite episodes that shows this is when Applejack and Rarity get trapped at Twilight's house and they try to force themselves to get along for Twilight's sake with rather disastrous results.

Might I suggest to anypony wanting to try it watching episode 11 first and then going back to episode 1? It's personally my favorite and if the Winter Wrap Up song doesn't hook you nothing will.

I personally never liked singing too much, except if it's Pinke Pie. As in the OP, I suggest either just starting from EP1 or then Sonic Rainboom (episode 16). After all, you don't really get anything spoiled. I think there's only spoilers for older episodes in very rare situations, and usually it's nothing big.

Oh I love a good tune, which is probably why it's one of my favorites (I get it stuck in my head all the time and find myself humming it at work). That and Applebuck Season, but that's probably just because I love Applejack. The thing I like most is really you can start out anywhere and not be to confused. They all tie in together nicely while still being good stand alone episodes. As you said there are very few spoilers. You know who I'm hoping to see more of though? Luna. She has such a sad story. I really felt sorry for her and honestly wasn't to happy with the way things ended for her. *doesn't want to say more and spoil anything*

Yeah, it would be interesting to see more of Luna, though it might be difficult to tie her in with the general idea of the show, as in, teaching different aspects of life. Maybe they have bigger plans for her, who knows. I definitely love the current structure, where there's a lot of focus on character development. Hopefully in season 2, or later in this season (still 10 episodes to go), they will dig deeper into the different facets of each character. Granted, the show definitely has a young demographic, but if you look at a show like Avatar, that also started out like this, but then later it started to raise the bar a little bit, targetting a more mature demographic and going into much deeper character exploration.

I just hope that they continue to keep up with it for a second season. You don't come across many entertaining shows like this anymore, for kids or otherwise. BTW do you know when the next episode is supposed to air?

I'm pretty sure it's on friday. I was planning to catch it with some friends, since it airs really early, like 10:00, so we should be able to catch the show around 17:00 or 18:00. We don't actually have The Hub otherwise you can bet, my butt would be up at 10 am watching it. I've only watched 3 episodes so far and it is quite addictive. I also think it's quite clever in some ways, like using play on words such as "anypony" and recognising that not all girls should be 'girlie girl'. I found myself comparing the ponies to people I know in real life, as they do all have different personalities that are recognisable. The show puts more thought into it than just playing on stereotypes.
