Using the game title with a spoiler in case I add more than one game to the thread. Have you played:
Spoiler for E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy?:
It's a very quirky game, with somewhat annoying controls/interfaces at the best of times and poor English in parts, but with the one of the most strangely convoluted dream-like plots I've seen in games. Not to mention it has some odd tongue-in-cheek humour.
The game is set in a dark dystopian universe and the most interesting part of it to me is the whole story revolving around the player character and his master; each time you play through the story (which repeats itself every time you finish), you can make certain decisions that change what you find out about the game's world/story. The prevalence of creatures spawned from psychic energy or whatever and the infinite nature of the story, repeating on itself, like a never-ending dream, are really interesting aspects to me. When you die you always return to a dream-gateway of some sort, and sometimes the character says certain things at this location, and sometimes plot-related characters are present there.
Psychic magic like transmutation and instant destruction of enemies are powers usable by the player, which add to the dream-like properties of the strange super-technological world the game takes place in; the player character, as far as I ever noticed, is the only one that can truly make extensive use of these powers, despite some of them being "sold" by an NPC.
Anyway, feel free to ask in this thread if people have played a specific game, and let each other know if you have/haven't. Maybe I can add people's questions onto this main post for easy visibility (i.e. if you ask if anyone's played X or Y I'll add that question as a quote in this OP)
