OK.....so i know ive already mentioned this book in the "books you should read thread" but for all you that havent heard of or read Jayne Ann Krentz's book : FALLING AWAKE you should really check it out. The book revolves around Lucid Dreaming and sleep studies. Well I read this book about a year ago and before this book I had never really heard of lucid dreaming. I mean I had always had those dreams where I knew I was dreaming, but I never thought It was anything special until I read this book...googled "lucid dreaming"...and found "DreamViews". Very interesting read if youre into romance/suspense books and a lot of lucid dreaming mixed in.
Here’s a summary and some snip-its of reviews I have found::::

[i]Summary of Falling Awake
A red scarf. A roller coaster. A tidal wave of blood...

Isabel Wright spends her days at the Belvedere Center for Sleep Research analyzing the dreams of others. Dr. Martin Belvedere, a pioneer in the field, recognized her unique talent for what he calls Level Five lucid dreaming. It's satisfying, lucrative work, but it can be emotionally draining. Especially when one of her anonymous subjects, known only as Client Number Two, captures her imagination through his compelling dream narratives. Secretly, she thinks of him as "Dream Man."
His real name is Ellis Cutler. A loner who's learned not to let anyone get too close, he works for a highly classified government agency with an interest in the potential value of lucid dreaming. And he's just been ordered by his boss to make contact with Isabel, who's been fired after the sudden death of Dr. Belvedere. Heading to California, he pushes his fantasies out of his mind, determined to maintain a professional relationship with the woman who reads his dreams, the mysterious figure he has come to think of as "Tango Dancer."
But when they meet in the flesh, the dream becomes real enough to touch. And a waking nightmare begins—when a suspicious hit-and-run leads them into a perilous web of passion, betrayal, and murder, and forces them to walk the razor-think line between dreams and reality.

No sugarplum dreams dance in this riveting nightmare tale! As dreamscapes and reality entwine, Jayne Ann Krentz takes the concept of lucid dreaming, which traces its roots back to Aristotle, into the realm of contemporary suspense in Falling Awake. -Sandy Huseby

Falling Awake is listed as a romantic suspense novel. It does have several murders, and could certainly also be listed in the murder mystery category, although it actually falls somewhere between the bodice ripper and the authentic mystery genre. It borders on the psychic, and concerns dreams and their interpretation along with a developing romance as well as a few murders.
The tale is engaging, and if you can accept the fact that dreams are actually symbolic, and often psychic – you will enjoy this novel. I believe the story will primarily be read and appreciated by women, although men with high intuitive qualities may also be attracted.
