      I'm actually kind of excited about this. I'm with you, Ninja, I hope it's well written. Jason is one of those movie villains that deserves to be done right, after having such a strong run in the earlier movies. If they go through all the trouble of "resurrecting" him [the movie], then they need to do it right.

      I hope it's the exact opposite of the halloween remake. micheal meyers was one of the greatest horror movie slashers and they ruined it. jason is great, but all of the movies sucked. although i do think that freddy vs jason was actually a pretty good crossover.

      I loved the Halloween remake.
      Rob Zombie did really good with it.

      I think you're taking it too seriously. First you asked "what's so scary" about Jason. There isn't a single movie "monster" that I couldn't explain away as being 'not so scary.' Then you said his being invincible makes him less compelling. I think that his being a human guy in a hockey mask with a machete would have been less compelling. I like the fact that Jason is basically an unstoppable force. To me, it makes the plight of the humans all the more severe.

      But, like you said, everyone's got their own opinion.

      I agree that having Jason being essentially immortal makes him scarier. If he was just some guy in a mask it would be a much shorter movie, they take place in the woods at a camp, full of bows and arrows and I'd assume at least one shotgun to scare away a bear if one showed up.

      Michael Meyers was great because he wasn't just immortal, his mortal mind died and was replaced by literal evil in the flesh.
