Bump. Didn't want to make another topic with the same title.

Has anyone seen the recent season? Two episodes in and I'm already hooked and excited to see where it goes. I actually believed this has got me more excited then heroes.

What do you mean by recent season? If the second one just started in the UK, and you mean that one. Then yes I've seen every second season episode. If you mean the third season, then no. I havent seen many of them. One or two...

I have to say that this show has gotten so freaking good, lately. The whole conflict between the Angels and the stopping of the coming of Lucifer, and their own doubt about God and Sam's demon-blood powers and Dean's return from Hell and all of it. It's just amazing. The angel Castiel is such an awesome character. It's just all gotten so deep and there is so much story behind each of the characters and really no cookie-cutter-ness about them. Heroes, for all its flaws, is still my favorite TV show, but this one is catching up quickly.

I am watching the current season and I have to agree with Oneironaut, I really like were the show is going. I am a little sad that it has lost some of that humor I love but its still one of my favorite shows.

The two main characters look rather old, like at least in their thirties.

Looked it up, one is 31, the other is 27.

Just doesn't seem interesting to me, as a young viewer, to watch two old geezers I guess. At least not as entertainment.

      Lmfao. "Two old geezers?"

Come back when you're approaching your 30's and say that.

I'll be an old geezer then myself. Although I may not want to admit it. I refuse to ever buy a motorcycle/scooter or a vehicle to try to reclaim my youth. That stuff is so horribly sad.

Granted however, 27 isn't that old, but 31 is a little like...where is your glowing hand buddy?

      (prime for what?)

No offense, but I find that point of view horribly sad. As I said edited in my last post, that is the human prime. IMHO, you have a skewed view of "what is fit for what age group," which is only understandable, but for those with a little more perspective, it seems a bit sad on your part. What logic is behind the idea that "a motorcycle shouldn't be bought when you're 30?" I'd like to know.

Not necessarily when you're 30, and not necessarily at any age, but I've seen old men buy these things to reclaim their youth and it really is just sad. But anyway, I think I failed to convey my point well earlier.

I'm gay and like most males my interest in entertainment shows is mostly reliant upon sexual attraction to at least one of the characters.

What makes you think they buy them to "reclaim their youth," as opposed to their being bought because they are beautiful, amazing machines that are fun as hell to ride, and simple enough to be driven by people of all ages, genders and sizes?

      [Edit:]
I'm straight, and I don't think your idea of what "most males' interest in shows is reliant upon" is all that correct either, in this context, seeing as how I'm not attracted to either of the main characters. It's just a good show.[/Edit]

I thought about that, too, but it seems like they are finding some way to slip it back in, every now and then. Next week's episode looks like it might be a return to it, with Sam and Dean seeming to not know each other. The way it was introduced in the preview looks like it's going to be one of those funny types of episodes. We'll see.

Because it is obvious why they are doing it when they never purchased them in the past. If you never had a thing for motorcycles and then one day you're middle aged and buying one I think it is fairly obvious why they are buying it.

@edit. Like the little sex kittens they put in that show every 3 episodes aren't part of the pull. If they were all ugly women you probably wouldn't even know the name of the show lol. Whether you admit it or not it is still true. I think if you're honest with yourself you'll admit that if the women on the show were plain or ugly you wouldn't be as interested in the show.

I'm 27, and I've been riding motorcycles since I could walk (so to speak. I got my first gas-powered mini-bike when I was 4 years old, which I had until I was about 10. Since then, the only thing I've had is a dirt bike which I had when I was like 15-17yrs old). The only reason i don't have one now is because I can't afford one (like many middle-class workers). Motorcycles are recreational vehicles, and most people get them when they can afford them, which often doesn't come until their late 20's - early 30's.

Now why is it, again, that you think most older people who ride just wake up one day and decide that they want to buy a motorcycle?

I never said that the sex kittens weren't part of the reason why I like the show, but you made the implication that without the sex kittens, the show would hardly be watchable. I'm saying there is much more compelling content than the sexually related...but, then, you have to actually watch the show to understand where I'm coming from on that.

      [Edit:]
As a matter of fact, I'll go so far as to say that the sex kittens aren't even a major part of why I like the show, because they are so few and far between. Every now and then, you'll have an attractive chick on the show, but they are extras that come in every now and then to move the story along. The regular, returning chicks aren't all that hot, and the other ones that are just extras are always (and I mean always) forgettable. [/Edit]

OMG, I'm not talking about people who have always wanted a motorcycle and who have read about them all the time (btw, aren't motorcycles cheaper than cars?). I'm talking about the people who have obviously never had a desire for a motorcycle and then when they hit middle age go, yeah, motor cycles, that makes sense.

"Not necessarily when you're 30, and not necessarily at any age, but I've seen old men buy these things to reclaim their youth and it really is just sad." Remember when I said that? I've seen people who I know for a fact did it for the reason I'm claiming they did it.

Yes, I remember when you said that. I also remember when you said this:

...which is contradictory to your last post.

Obviously my line of questioning is coming around to "how is it that you 'know for a fact' that they did it for the reason you're claiming they did it, and not because they suddenly, honestly, took an interest in motorcycles?" (or have always had the interest, which is what you've implied, stating that you base the assumption off of their never having had one and then purchasing one in their older years.)

I would imagine that people who allegedly did it for that reason wouldn't go around announcing that that was the reason they did it, so I'm wondering how it was you knew, "for a fact," that they did it for that reason.

And I understand that your original saying was that "you wouldn't buy a motorcycle to try to reclaim your youth," which (before you brought up other people) was just about yourself and is all fine and good, but I'm simply questioning the logic that equated "buying a motorcycle" to "trying to reclaim your youth," in your eyes.

I was talking about the people I saw. It isn't difficult to tell what the motivations are of people you are close to. I wasn't being all inclusive when I said that. Do you think it is hard for people to understand what the people close to them are feeling?

The person I mentined did quite a few things like being an electric guitar that he doesn't know how to play until he was promoted. He could afford these things long before then.

Oh and I forgot, for you straight guys you get pulled to shows for things like violence, disturbing stuff, and things blowing up.

Such a great, damn show. The guy who plays Castiel is an amazing actor. It was great to see him play the human whose body Castiel inhabited, to compare the two different roles. Great twists with his wife becoming a demon, and then Castiel jumping bodies into his daughter.

Can't wait for the next season.

      Amazing finale!

I knew something was up with Zachariah, the moment I saw him. The whole deal with Sam and Ruby just didn't seem right, and everything started becoming so clear, when they locked up Dean in the "Holo-room". And it was badass to see Castiel step up and choose to take on all the archangels by himself.

I never thought that they'd let the final seal get broken, though! And now Lucifer is free?! What?! Perfect cliffhanger, too; cutting it off right before we got to see what he looks like. I just sat there staring at the screen when the credits came up. Lol. The shit has just hit the fan, ladies and gentlemen.

Can't wait for the next season!
