What was the last book you read or are currently reading and do you like it?

last book I finished I would have to say is Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. It was an alright book for a quick read. i was hoping it would have been better though.

Currently I have a bunch of books on the go: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, The Stand by Stephen King, and The Innocent Man by John Grisham.

Something Wicked This Way Comes was great, not an alright book for a quick read as you called it... but maybe it was only great because I was younger
The recent book was Robin Hobb's Forest Mage, followed by a few non-fiction books.

Ray Bradbury is a wonderful writer. Ah! To think of it! He has written some of my favorites. "The Halloween Tree" is probably my favorite by him...

Right now, I'm reading "A Time to Hunt" by Stephen Hunter.

currently reading 'wicked pleasures' by Penny Vincenzi. It's ok, but it's a bonk buster...better to read on a long plane flight than just at home.

Oh, and Kamikaze, The Stand is an excellent book, i love stephen king.

I think after this next book i'm going to take a break from reading, i've read too much lately and i'm not enjoying it.

Ive just read a legal thriller by Mark Gimenez, a debut book called "The Colour of Law"
Amazing book, couldnt put it down
Althouh yo ucan see although the qway through that the book is based on Kill a Mockingbird, and the mai ncharacter is obviously based on Atticus Finch, the author does nothing to mask this, making numerous references to Atticus Finch in the story and even the foreword, that being said tis still a brilliant book. If you like Grisham, you'll love Mark Gimenez, im curently searching the internet for his second book, without much luck.
Deifntely reccomend it.

I just finished The Fountainhead, the book Ayn Rand wrote before Atlas Shrugged. Basically the same theme, but with better 'villains' and more exposure to the 'hero'.

So people still read... I thought that movies and games have made books obsolete. When I went to school I had to disguise the fact that I'm reading books (those outside of school program). Every time I was foolish enough to mention it I got only stares.
Do you guys all disguise that you read books?

I certainly wouldn't hide that I read books outside of school, but I could see why you would want to as most of my friends dislike reading.

"Philosophical analysis" or something. Some cheap, old, book I found in a random bookstore. Reasonably interesting, however quite dry and technically for my taste.

The last book I read was Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I loved it and recommend it for everyone.

I am also currently reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, and The Lathe Of Heaven by Ursula K. LeGuin. All of them are really good books so far.

I'm currently reading The Clash of Fundamentalisms by Tariq Ali and Closing of the American mind.
Two great books so far but i have yet to finish reading either yet.
Last book before this was The Little Prince and an online book available to anyone who can read this called The Machine Stops. A great read that looks into the future of mankind, and got most of it right....in 1908

1984 it's kind of boring at the moment. I'm at the part where Orwell describes social stuff. It's dull.

Cell, by Stephen King.

I really liked it because it reminds me of all those zombie-type movies, except it's carried out amazingly and given a modern, technologic twist. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, which upset many, but if you have a good imagination you're fine. Loved this book because it sucked me within the first couple pages - seriously, within the first ten pages, everything just goes crazy and you don't want to put it down.
