Vonnegut is by far my favorite writer, all of his books are amazing. I was wondering if anyone else liked to read his books. My favorites are The Sirens of Titan and Slaughterhouse-Five.

slaughterhouse 5 was amazing - I havent read any other books of him but I would like to...
I liked Slaughterhouse five, but I loved The Breakfast of Champions
He just died today... this is a disturbing coincidence........
Yeah, I heard it on the radio this morning. I think a bit of me died a little.
Yeah - heard of his passing... I read everything he did up through the early '80's. His work really appealed to me, but then I sort of lost my taste for it. He wove some amazing tales though - and always from a perspective that allowed the reader to easily and intensely experience the whole thing from the lead character's perspective.
Johnny Hart passed away this past weekend, too. I'm sure going to miss B.C.
Amen, my brotha. Reading on the shitter will never be quite the same. But then again, it hasn't been since Schulz's passing either :(Quote:

I totally missed the fact that Hart also drew the Wizard of Id -DUH! I should have recognized that style right away! Some artist I am...
PS- if things like this happen in 3's, wonder who'll be next?
*Sigh* I really enjoyed Vonneguts work, also Kilgore Trout. Venus on a Half Shell was one of my favs. as was slaughterhouse 5, man, what an opening: "Listen: Billy Pilgrim has become unstuck in time."
Vonnegut died, huh? So it goes...
Seriously, tho, he was one of my favorites. I think I'll start "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater" today, in his honor.
I agree i thought slaughter house 5 was amazing...
sad that he died... apparently i heard that his son has taken over some of his ideas and have continued his writing, this is not a good thing because his sons novels are apparently terrible and insult his fathers great name... i have never read his books so i dont know how true the story is....
What kind of writing did he do? I may pick up one of his books sometime.
