Why are you thinking it is a lost cause? There are a lot of gun owners here. I'm one.
Among my special favorites is a Dan Wesson .357 magnum competition profile revolver and a classic Beretta .400 semi auto.
That Sig's a lovely weapon. Nice choice.
Why? That's a good question. I have lots of answers for it.
1) Because I have an inalienable right to keep and bear firearms.
2) Because I have a responsibility to defend myself and those I am responsible for.
3) Because firearms are beautiful, elegant and exquisite machines and I enjoy and appreciate them.
4) Because shooting is a discipline and skill I find challenging and rewarding.
a dan wesson .357mag was the first pistol i ever had. lots of fun.
i just say it's a lost cause because, generally, this forum leans a little to the left.
shooting is a good skill to know... i've taken all my girlfriends out so that they won't be that girl in the movie that's fumbling to get the gun working while the killer is closing in. haha.
Due to the gun laws in the UK we're limited to rifles and shotguns :( . I don't actually have one, but a friend of mine has a Winchester break-barrel shotgun - not sure of the exact model.
That's not necessarily relevant. I "lean to the left" and I think guns are cool. They're fun to shoot at the range, and I can totally relate to people who collect them. It's the irresponsible "scared and paranoid" people who want them for self-defense even though they couldn't hit the ocean from a boat that worry me
Yeah, I was curious as to how many gun shops and ranges there are in the UK a couple of weeks ago. I'd love to be able to use a handgun or something. Basaically, there are none.
My dad has an air rifle in the loft but I don't know its make or anything.
Air rifles are fun. If you take a slate tile (like one off a roof) jam it in the groud and then shoot it with an air rifle, a really cool little bullet hole appears on the front. On the back the rest of the tile is ripped out in a kind of corkscrew fashion.
They may be pretty cool, but at the end of the day they are designed to kill people and that will always be the harsh reality
