I was in the newspaper because a guy at my school found a rare frog or something when I was 5, they couldn't find him for the pictures so they too ones of me and I got the glory for sole reason.

That makes me famous.

I was on a commercial for a kids' drink in the 70's. I slid down a big slide with some other kids and a dog and said some stuff in unison with the other kids about how awesome the drink is. It was shown in the United States during Saturday morning cartoons a few times in 1977. The product never caught on, so the commmercial wasn't even shown enough times for me to ever see it. I don't even know what the name of the drink was.

A person with my second name (quite rare) once appeared on Jim Davidson-era Generation Game as a pottery judge. Yep.

I spoke to this guy on a train once but I didn't know who he was until he had to tell me, heh.

So no, not even remotely famous.

I've had a lot of contact with famous people, locally and nationally. The more contact I have with them, the more I think it is a blessing to NOT be famous.

The ones who seem the happiest and most fulfilled are those who are recognized and have smaller but loyal followings who really "get" whatever it is they do. That seems to be the best of all worlds for an artist. They earn a living and do not become co-opted by some monster bent on exploitation.
