I'll be the first to say, that shit sucks. It is stupid and ugly. I hate it.

There should be a choice in between. I'm not opposed to anime. But I do think it has created some first class dorks in the West.

No the freaks/losers/nerds/dorks that watch this stuff and make it their entire life are the psychopathic freaks. Although, I watched pokemon once. When the cards were popular and stuff I didn't like the game, but I liked getting good cards and hustlin em for money. Good times. Make some serious bank off those losers.

You're making a really huge blanket statement. That's like saying "ALL live-action tv shows suck". Sure, most do, but some are really good.

That's the problem, right there (as is the case with most people who can make the sweeping generalization that "anime sucks"). The problem is that you've seen a little of the shittiest anime known to man, and concluded that "anime sucks."

Spend some time on the better anime (and, even better yet, some of the better anime movies). Watch some Cowboy Bebop, some Outlaw Star, some Berserk, Trigun, Afro Samurai, Samurai Champloo, etc. (DBZ is an acquired taste that you would actually have to watch either select episodes or the entire series to enjoy.) These are all good series. As far as movies: Watch Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, Street Fighter II, Venus Wars, Fatal Fury, and a list of others.

The "after school anime" that they show in the states, and is a big part of the adolescent anime culture in the U.S. (Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.) are shit, and nothing to base your idea of "what anime is" off of.

uuuhm i dont really love it...i dont hate it either... but its cool. I watch manga sometimes. u should put an other option in the vote stuff something like "not a big fan but still watch it"

My favorite for a long time was Naruto. Not the molested American crap, but the subbed Japanese episodes. I started Shippuuden the other day, actually. I came across Bleach awhile ago, and that's a pretty awesome one too. I occasionally watch an episode or two of some others, like Love Hina (Kinda screwed up) Azumangah Daioh (Hilarious) Excel Saga (Violent...random...yay), and Hellsing. I've only seen three anime movies-shame-and all were good. They were The Princess Monoke, Spirited Away, and Nausica and The Valley of The Wind or something like that.

I can't stand any boobie anime, they're easy to spot. the chick on the cover as eyes bigger than her forehead and her boobs are about to explode. regardless of how well or even how not sexual the story line is, I will not watch, its insulting and disgusting. and a lot of those animes, even with their girly storylines are only watched by guys - I wonder why

I much prefer my anime with guy leadsand with a storyline with something to chew on. I also like anime that deals with close friendships rather than frivolous romances

occasionally I like my anime for a younger audience, I liked the first season of pokemon when it aired at 6am before anyone had even heard of it. as silly and stupid as it was it was everything a kids cartoon should be. I liked DBZ for a while, but that was dragged on waaaaaaaaay too long.

I also liked the first series of naruto- minus the hundred episodes of fillers

I'm not big on females in anime, most are just empty shells to carry boobs. but I do like miyazakis gals. Nausicaa is my role model! but then again Nausicaa was the first anime I ever saw at age seven, so that could be why

I agree that there should have been a "I sorta like some of it, very selectively" option... cause now, all the people who don't say "I can't stand that garbage" are left saying they love it, like some weird groupie fanboys.

I still think it's not fair to say you hate ALL anime, simply because it's nothing more than an art style (one with much variation from show to show). There is yet to be a nay-sayer that actually justifies their hatred. I'd like to hear a "I can't stand anime because <reason>" type response.

"Sucking so much" doesn't count as a reason?

"I can't stand anime because I hate that art form". Does that work replicon?

Or, "I can't stand anime because I hate cartoons, and it's the worst type of cartoon. Actually I like family guy and futurama, but thats it!".

Since I know nothing of the crude art of anime, may I ask an informed member to identify which one is plagiarising the other? Please say it's Naruto. Please. (I don't know anything of Naruto only that it annoys me because of its ubiquity in spite of its rubbish art, and why does he have whiskers?).
