The consensus is pretty much that (not to spoil anything, but it's all just theory, anyway) that it is one huge monster (not Godzilla) that can infect humans somehow, with some type of virus, and smaller monsters associated with it. |

From what I can gather, it's a kind of Cthulhoid frog-seal the size of a small city. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
I've heard all the whale/seal/gozilla/frog/power ranger etc. theories but the most recent thing I read was that it was actually an alien that has little parasites or something all over it that come off it and infect other people. |

Anybody know the significance of the title? |
|
Yeah, Im excited for this also. Id think it would be cool if it never really showed the monster at all. It just shows how you can be scared of something and not know what it is. |
|
Oh, crash I think not. |

You do this every fucking time.
No sweat.
No tears.
No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

I can't wait for this movie, i love the big moan sound from the first trailer for this movie. |
|
My friend wants me to go and see it with him. |
|
...are you joking? I honestly love these vague viral marketing schemes. They really build up the hype, which is often far more fun than the actual thing itself. |
|
I agree that the hype is fun, but I refuse to give people money for just hype. I've wasted too much money on hype. So I won't be seeing this in the theater. |
|
it may well just be a giant monster, there was a glimpse of a giant godzillaish leg in the the trailer, slowed down. Or am i lying? Is there a bigger surprise waiting? |
|
I wouldn't pay for hype, no, I'd pay to see the actual film because I think it's something I would enjoy based on what the hype vaguely describes, and because I think there's some intelligence behind it, as opposed to the trailers you see for almost every other Hollywood film in which the entire plot is explained by a booming deep American voice with lots of quickfire clips to illustrate it. They annoy me more than vague hype, if anything. |

I'm with you on this one, Sin. To tell you the truth, I'd like it if more movies were more creative with their marketing. I think it helps create a mythos around the movie, and helps draw you in more. The sense of mystery behind this movie, so far, is incredible. Judging by the trailers, it doesn't look like it's going to disappoint, or looks like it will, at the very least, be worth a look. I wouldn't be going to see it just because of the marketing. I honestly think it looks like an interesting movie. |

This is supposedly the most accurate depiction of the Cloverfield monster (and the smaller ones) that there is, according to official "movie scoop" sites. I think it looks awesome. |

But that's just fanart. The reason I think the image that I linked to may be more accurate is because of this: |
|
Actually, the one I posted wasn't fanart. It was erroneously labeled as fanart. (At least the bottom picture. The one of the smaller "Parasite") |
