Which band did you find too late?

Do you have any bands you found too late, that they are either disbanded (or dead) when you were started getting interested in them?

      Share your opinions.

Elliott Smith comes in my mind and the another one is System of a Down when I started to listen to rock in general in 2006. Quite a bummer.
And if I had wheels, I'd be a wagon.

      Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer.

Dave died way too young of a sudden heart attack about three weeks after I discovered them. Man, did he leave a legacy behind though.

      Guns N' Roses.

Some may argue they're still together, but Axl is the only original member there. They've gone through so many member changes, its not even close to the same band it used to be. Besides, GnR isn't GnR if Slash isn't there.

Exactly why I'm not looking forward to their album this year.

The only one I can think of is Alice in Chains, who I got into a few years ago. They're still together, and recording a new album, but without Layne Staley, who died in 2002, it just won't be the same.

Of course there are the people who died when I was so young, or not even born yet, like Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughan and oh so many more.

Almost all of my music I found too late, since most of them recorded music wayyy before I was born. Guess that's what I get for being born in '92.

Tons, but The Doors come to mind. Jim Morrison died before my dad was even born.

Seconded. And Pink Floyd. Man, to be around during their time...

I've always wished to be alive in the sixties, during Beatles era. Man, such a musical revolution at that time... None of that's happening now.

Definitely Stevie Ray Vaughan, is it just me or do helicopter and plane crashes take a lot of musicians lives?

I totaly agree with you on that one Mes, it would have been awesome. But think about it, you would have to wait decades for DV to come around

Phish. They were one of the great live bands. Broke up just before I got into them in 2003. I really wish I could have seen them live just once.

Phish...I've heard some of their stuff, and I like it, I just don't know where to start tackeling them at...

Kevin Gilbert, too bad he's dead...I got his only official solo album that was released in his life a few months ago.

Radiohead...I wish that I could have been listening to them around the time of OK Computer. Stylistically they're completely different than when they started

Thanks, I'll pick that one up in the next couple of weeks!
