      current D&D characters

      im currently in a campaign as a human fighter, sorcerer, dragon desiple, paladin of freedom named Bretheren. one of my favorite spells is celerity.

      You need at minimum some core rulebooks, an acting Dungeon Master to run the game and work out the mechanics (besides standing in for all the NPCs), and some dice, most notably the twenty-sided die, to determine rolls. Paper for character sheets.

      A lot of imagination, and an appreciation for role-playing help, too.

      Dungeons and Dragons get's alot of shit for it's creativity.

      Basically, D&D (though I've only played it once) is more of a ruleset than it is a game. You do have seperate characters and spells, etc etc. But it's more or less a game to play with friends who enjoy storytelling.

      Basically, the DM (dungeon master) sets up a world. All from his imagination. And then through dice rolls, and other things, the people playing can move around the DM's world, doing whatever they want.

      It's quite a fun little game, but takes ages to learn how to play.
