      Payne to the max!

There is no other movie i'm looking forward to more than this one. But at the same time i'm scared to death they'll screw it up. Like alot of other game-to-movie flicks. And i'm not entirely comfortable with Mark Wahlberg in the role of Payne. I don't think he has the right hardboiled look about him.

Personally I think Clive Owen might've suited the role better:

But what the hell. Atleast Wahlberg is a good actor

Wahlberg kind of failed in The Happening, hopefully this will be better.

And I have to be honest, I own Max Payne 2, but I haven't played the first one, or even gotten that far in Max Payne 2. What is the movie based on?

      well,
from the trailer, you can see Max is in Aesir Corporation's HQ
plus there's a scene in the trailer with him remembering his wife & baby being killed
so it looks like it's the plot from the original game
(which is good, as the plot for the sequel was a bit poo)

I hope they keep the film noir type overtones
that's what really made the game
but what works for a game may not work for a movie
Sin City did a pretty good job, but we'll see

I remember Max Payne giving me the most potent scare after playing it when I was younger. I knew never to trust a game like that again.

Seriously, I was so scared after playing through those drug sequences - the baby constantly crying, the wife screaming, the distortions between reality and dream. It was fucked up and my 11 year old mind couldn't handle it.

Fucking amazing game, if it could accomplish something like that.

Max Payne is crazy. I got a while to pick it up. I got a really cool place up the street called "Half-Price Books", and they have a big PC game section. I bought Max Payne 2 from there for $9.98 USD, and get this.. PYSCHONAUTS for$4.95!

Well, it's kinda impossible to tell whether it'll be any good from a trailer. It looks like it'll be worth checking out at least. I can say i wouldn't have cast Mark Wahlberg as Max, but we'll see how that goes. There are a few things this movie (in my opinion) needs to get right (the trips and mona for starters). I'm kinda thinking the fact that it's rated PG-13 means the grit that game has will not be transferred well to the movie, even with a re-rated DVD release. I'm not hoping for much, but i'll watch it, even if only for Mila Kunis

Started playing Max Payne again, just for kicks

I'd forgotten all the little goodies in the game
No chance of these in the film, but anyhow...

I enjoyed both games. I wish I still had them, but they belonged to my brothers and they've probably gotten rid of them by now.

I hated the tripped out parts, though. Every time you feell off of those freaking tiny red lines, you'd have to go back and wonder if you could take any more of the baby crying. I turned the sound off after a while.

I didn't know they were making a movie out of the game, now I can't wait.

Is the movie covering the first game only or did they make a new story line based on both?

      - No sir, I'm a dreamer.
