Top 5 Movies (Thus Far, At Present, Ad Nauseum)

An impossible task, I know. I'm the last to pick favorites or make lists, but movies are so influential and can provide such profound experiences on occasion, so to find my list I probed my personality and worldview to find the sore thumbs sticking up. Here you go, in no particular order:

The Man Who Fell to Earth
      School of Rock
      Millers Crossing
      Natural Born Killers
      Before Sunset
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

I haven't seen many on your list aside from School of Rock. Must go watch more movies.

      In no order:

      Trainspotting
      The Thin Red Line
      The Shawshank Redemption
      Fellowship of the Ring
      Advent Children
Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

      Hmmm

The original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

      Cast Away

      What Dreams May Come

The Lives of Others (I think)

Anything by Maozaki, Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriquez (well not ANYTHING but most of their stuff)

      Shawshank Redemption

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

      lives of others is amazing!

and your tarantino referral made me remember the fake trailer by rob zombie in deathproof. rob zombie's films are winners every time for me. his halloween remake is better than the original.

Hmm.. Off the top of my head, here's my top 5 list, no particular order:

The Crow (The sequels are awful though. Brandon Lee must be turning in his grave)
      Equilibrium
      Braveheart
      Gladiator
      Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

EDIT: I just have to toss in Band of Brothers in here. I know it's more of a mini series, but I just can't leave it out

I just don't get why everyone dislikes it. It was incredibly scary, and suspenseful, and the twist was very very clever. Beautifully directed and written. I thought it was very moving.

It's hard to pick a top 5.... I guess these are some options, but not necessarily the top 5, just what comes to mind right now.

      The Matrix Trilogy
      Anchorman
      V for Vendetta
      Fight Club
      The Dark Knight
