      favorite character from a book

After trying to find books that interest me, I've realized that the thing that sucks me in the most is when the book has well developed characters. Of course I like the book to have other good elements too, (good writing, fast-paced, interesting plot, etc.) but when the characters are easy to relate to, I seem to care more about what happens to them in the book. So... any favorite characters?

Feel free to share a few of your own. Also, I'm honestly a sucker for main characters.

A few of mine include: (book - character)
      Dune - Paul Muad'Dib
John Carter of Mars (series) - John Carter, Tars Tarkas
Harry Potter (series) - Fred and George Weasley, Delores Umbridge (I don't know if I've ever hated a character so much, and I give props to Rowling for evoking that kind of feeling)
The Hero and the Crown - Luthe
Ender's Game - Ender, Bean (I need to read the other books...)
      Abhorsen (series) - Mogget

And I'm sure there are others I just can't think of...

Ender's Shadow is good. But don't bother with the others.

Enders Shadow was great, the sequel to Enders Game was also good (even though it takes place when he's grown up)...probably better than Enders Shadow. The new ones are pretty damn good too, but I think I can't read those kind of books anymore, they lack any imagery. I prefer Bean over Ender.

My favorite comic book hero is Tin Tin.

Tender Branson from Survivor. He envoked so much heartache and empathy from me. Chuck is a great writer! But Survivor will always be my favorite book of his.

I also loved the character Hannah Baker from the book Thirteen Reasons Why.

No, it's a novel by Edwin A Abbott. It's full title is Flatland: A Romance of many Dimensions. It's a truely timeless masterpiece. It's so old that a full version of it is on Google Books (I think)
