You left out Frank Miller's Ronin, timelessly kick-ass in its own right, but also the unacknowledged inspiration for Samurai Jack. For my money, it's his best work.

Also, I haven't read The Incal, but Jodorowsky's The Metabarons is fantastic.

Some are more like $10-15, but several are 10-15 volumes, as well

Of course, like everything else on the interwebs...

Aye, that's what I was thinking Elis D. However, there is a distinct lack of tactile pleasure from reading comics from the screen compared to holding it in one's hands.

There is the compensation, however, of having double-size, backlit artwork if you turn a widescreen monitor for portrait orientation. As long as the images are good quality, I find comics superior on the screen.

That's very true. I only get .cbr books because I can't afford the hard copies

It'll be around 20-40 dollars per book, although some haven't been collected yet, so you'd have to find each individual comic and go from there.

      Again, this requires more money.

You'll have to upgrade at some point, and widescreen LCDs are standard anymore. My 22" LCD was the last upgrade to my old / first component to my new system. Then again, my financial priorities tend to be gadgets and live music rather than, say, real estate, education, debt elimination or investment. Of course, lately I'm feeling pretty good about those priorities

There are still pros to the printed page: I feel some eyestrain w/ a backlit monitor, even though the images and text are larger, and it's harder to curl up in an armchair with a 10-20lb appliance

Digital comics and ebooks have me considering a monitor arm like this one, though they seem a little pricey for what they are. It would be very handy in general, as I move around among 3-4 different parts of the room, and now that I've broken the seal on portrait mode, I'm finding some other software that I like that way, too, and it would be much easier to switch (though I could go for a stand at half the price if that's all I wanted).
