      Basshunter

A friend of mine introduced me to Basshunter recenently, and it's really my first taste of techno. I've got a few of his songs on my mp3 player now, what do you guys think?

      I'm your basscreator:

I've been in love with it for a while.

Except when I found out that one song was about WoW. It lost a bit of its glimmer. Which is why I prefer to know as little as possible about music, musicians, and what they made their songs about

For like 12 days in Hawaii that middle segment of Basscreator was my staple

I think he's pretty awesome. He had like three popular hits in the Netherlands and 2 of them had the exact same melody. Now that must be an awesome guy!

      No.

What? What song was about WoW? I have no clue. I know he wrote a song about Warcraft (Dota), but not World of Warcraft. I think his music is terrible, though.

Basshunter is basic stuff. But my fav is trance-up.

There are plenty of better unknown artist that have made more impressive tracks.

Check out my AMV Techno Trance collection on youtube. User name IZ1111. Oh and welcome to the Genre.

I think you need to learn the difference between "shit" and "the shit".

Everybody used to hate him because there was a basshunter-hate bandwagon. To me he was fun to hate because he is Swedish.

But I actually do like his music!

Fableflame, you'd like "The Indian" and "I can walk on water, I can fly", so check those two songs out if you haven't already.

I haven't heard "The Indian" yet, but I didn't really like "I can walk on water I can fly."

Ah ok, like I said I didn't look into it, the person who told me said world of warcraft.

That's DoTA. It's all about an MMORP.

Also, "Now You're Gone" is not a direct translation into English.

"Boten Anna" is all about an IRC bot (internet chatroom) that "boots all the spammers".
And then it turns out that it's not a bot, it's in fact a highly attractive girl.

So... Now You're Gone is like the cheap rip-off cousin of Boten Anna.
You do this every fucking time.
      No sweat.
      No tears.
      No guilt.
You do this every fucking time.

I don't like 'em. It's really sissy techno, to be completely honest. If you can't rave to it, I don't even bother. It's listenable if you treat it like electronica, same way Freezepop is listenable.

You can make music more or less enjoyable for yourself by fitting it into different genres? Sounds intriguing.
