      What Sci-Fi Should I Watch/My Collection

For ones I haven't seen yet:

      Dune (1984)
      2001: A Space Oddesy
2010: The Year We Make Contact
      Titan AE
      Imortal
      Serenity
      THX-1138
      Metropolis
      Blade Runner

      For ones I have seen
Star Wars IV-VI (Original theatrical set, 1997 redits, and mid eighties reprints)
      Star Wars I-III
Planet of The Apes 1-5 (Not the Tim Burton one)
      The Matrix 1-3
      Independance Day

      And for TV series:
A bunch of old Buck Rogers episodes
      Some Outer Limits VHS
Lost in Space (Some signed by a Mr. Mark Goddard)

That is my 'Outter Space' sci fi collection.

Which of the first set should I watch tomorow? It will be raining, if that influences your opinion.

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

THX-1138 or Dune, but all are worth watching.

Yea, I was leaning to Dune. I just got it the other day and I am so excited . The cheapest version was 15 bucks, so I am still shocked I splurged on it.

Now I need to find the popcorn maker, iced tea mix, and my glasses.

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

Here's one you should add to that list. Zardoz, starring a young Sean Connery. Words can't even begin to describe that movie...

Sunshine is a pretty good sci-fi movie!!
(I liked it for the psychological aspects mostly)
      Maybe Event Horizon, also?

From your list I liked 2001 the best, but you need
patience while watching it. Serenity is pretty cool,
but more on the funny side of things.

      Then maybe Lost in Space?

Then of course the Alien movies.

The fifth element (which reminds me, even though
I have seen this movie probably about 50 times, I
haven't in years - I know what i'll be watching tonight)

Another very good one: Twelve Monkeys

      Appleseed - Animated-Sci-Fi.

1984 - you know.. orwell. But goooood

      K-Pax

      Hitchhiker's Guide (I liked it)

You should watch all the episodes of Firefly before you watch Serenity. I'll second Sunshine, and add Miyazaki's Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Also, if you haven't seen them, Brazil and The Man Who Fell to Earth.

If you want a thorough mindfuck, watch these three films in this order: Orson Welles' The Trial, Brazil, and Fight Club.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

YEa, I plan on renting them. The DVD set is so expenisive, though...

WHat happens if you watch those 3 movies in order?

You get to watch our collective imagination grapple with and digest a bureaucratic angst first introduced in Early Modern works like Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground, revealing something of the workings of the mass psyche and its development through the twentieth century. Also, if you're already familiar with Fight Club, you'll see something of its roots; it almost owes more to the two earlier films than to Palahniuk's novel.
