Thread: Battlebots

Yeah I liked that show it was pretty cool.

It was pretty fun, I think I watched it for a year or two

Robot Wars was better.

They had super bots in each corner of the ring with 2 competitors it was so sick.

I didn't really like Robot Wars...I mean, the judge bots or whatever were pretty cool, but it just wasn't as awesome...

I came in to say the exact same thing, Robot Wars pwnt Battlebots.

Yea i liked battlebots too, they were awsome.

Heck, either show would have been awesome to bring back. What happened to it anyways? Did we get scared from Terminator?

Both shows had robot carnage, what's not to like about either one? The house robots on RW were pretty sick too. I liked the one that looked something like a bulldozer with the diamond edge axe, although I don't remember what it was called. That other, Matilda, I thought was pretty useless even though it could stand up to everything. What I enjoyed most of all were the robots that used large metal disks that spun in excess of 5,000 rpm and ripped everything they touched into itty bitty little pieces of shrapnel. Given, those always appeared to be the ones that looked less impressive, but the fireworks show is what I watched for. I remember a pincer-like robot that won almost every match was running in, had a large curved spike that it drove downward onto whatever it caught on it's scooping wedge-thing.

Psh, as a kid I aspired to compete on that show. I'm still down, really, and I'll more likely than not end up building myself a killer robot somewhere down the line. Question is, what lovely weapons shall I employ?

I remember only one name from the Robot Wars, and that's Sir. Killabot. I'm pretty sure that was it...

I watched like every episode of robot wars ever made... (With the exception of the British version.) I always wanted to compete.

I think we ALL wanted to compete! Those shows were awesome.

Am I the only one who spent hours as a younger kid pouring over my own designs and double-checking them all with the shows requirments?

Definitely not. I still think about the one I wanted to make.

Everyone wanted to make one and compete. Heck, we all did little sketches and hoped and prayed that someday, we could kick @$$ with robots.

I remember this show. When I first got Dish I couldn't stop watching it. It later got cancelled pretty soon...yeah....
