Here we go.

Terrible news -Medics got to him @ 12:15pm cst. and he wasn't breathing, was in a coma and then pronounced dead sometime around 3:00pm cst. There will never be anyone to reach his status.:(
HES DEAD!!!!!! thank god. great music, shitty person
R.I.P.
Through the internet, he'll live on forever as American icon.
for a guy who rapes children he certianly has alot of fans
I was driving home from work today without having read or heard the news that Michael Jackson had died or that he had even been rushed to the hospital. Out of the blue, this song popped into my head and stayed there my entire ride home.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_hz2am90Hk
I usually don't have Michael Jackson songs pop into my head and get stuck, although I do love that song and other Michael Jackson songs. He is one of entertainment history's supertalents.
By the way, that YouTube video has the fastest moving thread I have ever seen on the internet, by very far. There is a new message every few seconds.
www.ismichaeljacksondeadyet.com
Well, is he?
Man, I just heard!!! ~ it's hard not catch wind of it, too, since everybody on social networking sites has posted status updates regarding it.
Rest in peace, King of Pop...
Drivers Ed teacher was just making fun of him this morning..... Then he went to go on youtube and yahoo said he was in the hospital.. Poor mr jacksonz
The only thing that bothers me about his death is that he's going to overshadow Farrah Fawcett's death.
The mere fact that you made that statement is sad in itself. But in a way, you're right. Kind of like when Barry White died, then Luthor Vandross soon followed.
Farrah was great in her own right, however - this is the king of pop...a caller called in and said this news (Michael Jackson's untimely death) is on the same level with the President of the United States dying. Which is true. Soooooo many popular mainstream artists today accredit their talent and inspiration (while growing up) to Michael Jackson. Justin Timberlake, Usher, Ne-Yo, and Chris Brown to name a few.
I'd also like to take this time to draw attention to the death of David Carradine. He died a few weeks ago and it seems nobody noticed. He was my favorite host on Wild West Tech.
http://www.cnqn.com/wp-content/uploa...-carradine.jpg
Operation Ghostbusters is complete. The Pink are now free. You can let Bobby come out and play now.
God this just ruined my otherwise perfect day. This is NOT what I wanted to hear. I thought my dad was joking, but he wouldn't joke about this. I now know "Don't Stop Till you Get Enough" as the song I heard when I found out Michael Jackson died.
May he rest in peace.
Farrah Fawcett's ghost must be SO pissed off right now.
Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett were two of the biggest names of the 1970's.
am i dreaming?
;____;
And I feel very neutral. How's everyone else feeling about it?
I felt pretty neutral too... I was told seven times in a few minutes, though, so I think that effected my reaction.
http://5.media.tumblr.com/sdYsolKXXp...mMe3o1_500.jpg
But in all honesty I don't know which side to take on that particular matter, and I am sad that MJ's gone. :(
Haha.
http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=79862
I'm saddened, he was one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) music superstars this world has ever known. Music just got a little less interesting.
Rofl.. I'm not insensitive... Just not a pic you can miss. I got it from tumblr.
http://tumblr.9gag.com/
Wow. Been following this since this afternoon (and respect to David Carradine as well - I meant to mention his death a couple of days ago - and FF). It's crazy. As sickly as he was, I wouldn't have expected him to die anytime soon. Dunno why not.
While untimely in a sense, he's been kinda undead for a decade or so... the downward spiral seemed unlikely to stop anytime soon.
I'm a bit saddened because I genuinely did like the guy, but I can't help myself from laughing at all the humor that can come from his death. I changed my Steam name to "Michael Jackson's Zombie".
Merged 2 threads.
He had just planned a 50 concert come-back tour... I dunno. He did revolutionize pop by coining what is now modern pop dancing. Plus, he broke down some pop-music racial-stereotypes.
I really don't think that he molested anyone and never have.
It's sad that such an entertainment icon passed away. I often use these times to wonder though, why people are so affected when a celebrity dies. It's a strange phenomena.
I find it to be tragic, sure, but at the same time I am not personally saddened by it.
Even still, his musical advances will be remembered far longer than the jokes about his plastic surgeries and child molestations. Rock on, Mike. Rock on.
Is the tour still on..?
ahhh, where is Eminem when you need him... "I've touched on everything, but little boys" lol
Rest in peace Michael.
I was playing WoW when the news got out, instant WoW-MJ jokes flood.
"michael jackson died!!1 :("
"did he drop any good loot?"
"when does he respawn?"
"haha mj is corpse-running"
It was pretty funny.
I think a lot of people are affected by celeb deaths because many of us feel like we know them, in a sense. They're familiar. As opposed to all the other people who die every day in the world.
I think it's not so much about feeling we "know them" as much it is what they did during their lifetime. Kennedy got us on the moon first for example. When he was killed, our red, white and blue stripes became a little pale (metaphorically speaking of course). Now Michael Jackson had the BIGGEST impact on pop music to THIS day. He affected many lives and inspired a generation of young artists. While the woman who lived two doors down from me might have done something significant with her life, it really comes down to "Whose life did she affect?" That's the question I may pose before I feel remorse over her for her blowing her brains out 2 years ago with a shotgun in her closet.
eh, pretty much standard "jokes" in WoW :PQuote:
lawl. those are good.
A friend of a friend (guy a car share with to work) got his tickets to one of his concerts yesterday, then found out this news last night! Shocking really!
I was playing a game, and alot of people were making posts saying stuff like RIP Micheal Jackson, then these guys (and girl and girl/guy) came up and started saying that no noe cared that he died and that we should celebrate and that he was a molestor who wanted to be white badly. I found that kinda insulting an in bad taste. He didn't even choose to change his skin, he had a disease.
I feel sorry for the guy, so much happened to him as his career plummeted and he went out without sorta changing his career for the better.
He was kinda creepy in his later years but you gotta admit hes awesome in the 80s
NOOOOOOO!!!!
RIP
Somewhere in the world Macaulay Culkin is weeping.
Michael Jackson's death for me is very hurtful because I actually admired his music and his amazing dancing ability. I know everyone has his/her own favorite celebrity for various reasons, however it is undeniable that he is a musical genius and his death is a tragedy for millions of people who were fans of his songs. It is hard not to see that he had and extraordinary gift and his music has touch the lives of millions across this world. I will surely miss him but he has left us with music that is legendary and his mind blowing performances will stay in the memory of millions.
Everyone who gave him such a hard time, like all the damn entertainment media, are now the ones covering it and making him seem so amazing. People bug the crap out of me. Child molestor or not, the one thing we know is that we know nothing (although I REALLY doubt he is) !!!....MJ will live on forever... my first song I ever danced to was "Beat It", I was like 18 months lol and I'll continue dancing to his beats with my little ones <3 <3
Oh Lord...Quote:
He didn't even choose to change his skin, he had a disease.
The man denied having more than 2 facial surgeries.
And vitiligo doesn't cause your skin to turn bleached white.
Who cares about his skin color? Really. If he did change his skin color it was his business... you'd be cool with living with patchy, multi-colored skin I guess?
RIP Michael, you truly were one of the best, fuck the haters.
Putting my original pressing Thriller LP on repeat all day.
Actually, it does, mainly in patches. But there is treatments that can shade the skin (bleach creams, lazer treatments) to match the vitilgo effected skin, hence the massive amount of white powder he wore... (research it a little)Quote:

And obviously I don't know if he was guilty of child molestation, but if he was, then the haters are completely justified. I don't think you can reasonably argue with that.
I've actually seen multiple people with vitiligo. This one guy had it on the back of his neck pretty bad. Around the border of the affected area it was pink, but in the rest of the area it was a very pale white. It almost looked like the black was burning off the guy to reveal a white person underneath.
Don't you think it would be easier to do a one-time bleach or periodic bleach of the skin rather than smear black makeup all over your face everyday?
So I reject Xei's predictably cynical remark.
I'd also like to say, I welcome the forthcoming memes regarding his death. If you can't laugh at something you're taking it too seriously.
MJ has already been accused of molesting the cherubim in heaven.
Well, the dead can't sue for libel.
If there is anything it'll all be out very soon.
I wouldn't be surprised...Quote:
Jackson's family and friends believed his heart attack was caused by the pressure to perform at London's O2 arena.
Ooh... according to the BBC his doctor's run off.
So his untimely death probably was due to excessive drug use, most likely due to the stress of his upcoming concerts.
Out of court settlement ≠ going through court.Quote:
And. Micheal Jackson went through a court... just like anyone else would if they was suspected of something. He was proven innocent, so therefore he is.
Oh sorry I see, you're taking the piss. :)Quote:
Putting on black make up would cost more than bleaching your skin white.
Eh, I would argue with the general logic there. However, in this particular instance I agree that it is highly unfair to think that MJ molested anyone with the evidence, (or lack thereof,) presented.Quote:
And. Micheal Jackson went through a court... just like anyone else would if they was suspected of something. He was proven innocent, so therefore he is.
Were Klan members who were "proven innocent" by racist juries really innocent? Innocent under the law and innocent in reality are two different things.
okay maybe you guys are right. :)
Your free from the slums of humanity, don't listen to the haters.
:smitten: REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON :smitten:
I just wanted to re-emphasize that again...
Because Michael Jackson had hundreds of millions of dollars.Quote:
Hows that?
He actually has negative hundreds of millions of dollars...
Not at the time of bleaching.
Which is what we were talking about.
Jeebus...
:smitten: REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON :smitten:
and again......
The second child-abuse allegations led to a trial in which Jackson was acquitted of all charges.Quote:
Out of court settlement ≠ going through court.
And the first one didn't. Well done...
I bet he wished he had this kind of popularity when he was alive. All I have heard for the past couple days are stories about Michael Jackson. Yet, the Cap n' Trade tax seems to go unnoticed .. hmm
Well, if vitiligo doesn't bleach your whole body, then he probably bleached it all when the effects of the disease changed him.
Jon Lajoie on media hypocrisy:
You know, even though I know he's dead...it's still surreal like...I'm halfway expecting it to be a hoax or something. The magnitude of what happened still hasn't fully set in and probably won't for awhile.
Hehe yeah, I know ;) I lied when I said I didn't read any of the other posts. I was more replying to the person who said
EDIT: Just read the rest of the page.Quote:
Because Michael Jackson had hundreds of millions of dollars.
/facepalm.
Kids don't inherit their parents' debts.
anyone else getting of sick of hearing about his death every second on the news?
Last night I found myself at a funk/soul concert that ended up being largely a tribute to MJ, and it kind of hit home that he was a legend in our time. I'm still not sad or happy about his death, but I appreciate the significance of his life more.
Yeah maybe it is a hoax, it's the real life thriller! He'll come back all zombified and bust it out just in time for his tour to start LOL
So this weekend was pretty funny seeing MJ stuff everywehre. Friday, at a small house party we were all grooving to MJ non stop. Sat I went to a classic car show and any car that was blasting music, it was sure to be Jacko :D At night we went out to bars and everyone requested MJ, it was so funny, people really really enjoyed his music and man that guy can dance!! Tonight I guess on Jackson street in Seattle they are inviting everyone to come and dance thriller LOL
I'm not getting sick of hearing about it either.... do something about it if you don't want to see/hear it; using that little "on/off" button is a good start :P
damn, that is a bad-ass signature marlie
I think this is one of his best songs in my opion, the 80's he was in his prime...and I don't really like pop-rock like that
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdjqcSCObuc
R.I.P. MJ
I've had my original pressing Thriller LP on all day yesterday.
It's the only Michael Jackson album I own unfortunately, and the rest are about to get very expensive.
Off the wall is a Kick-Ass album in my opinion I think it completely ties with Thriller, however there as never been not one song that MJ has come out with that I didn't like, and I've heard pretty much all of his material including Demo's.
I miss him, he was perhaps the best entertainer in human history in my eyes.
He will be missed, but his soul lives on for eternity in his beautiful music, videos, and movies.
I really would like to see Janet Jackson return to the spotlight, or maybe perhaps of Michael's 3 kids we will have another huge star?
we all remember Michael Jackson but sadly he died a week ago a great singer but made horrible decisions :( some say he died of crack:mad: not true....but he did die of drugs. when he got the surgery he had to take antibiotics. these later effected parts of his body and caused them to not function anymore. I've heard people say that it is a conspiracy and hes hiding somewhere in Transelvania lol but even though he wasn't the greatest, its still hard to believe he is dead
Rock on in heaven lil michael:bravo:
That was the weirdest post i've ever read.
Seriously... also guerilla, I haven't talked to you in forever... how you be, sweet cheeks?
When is everyone going to forget about this pedo?
You may as well ask us to forget about Elvis or John Lennon...
I watched his memorial on T.V. today, I don't even have words. It was just the most heart moving thing I've seen in quite some time and if none of the memorial grabbed you Im sure I'm not alone when I say that his daughter Paris was just the tear jerker of all tear jerkers at the very end.
- Terence MckennaQuote:
We have to create culture, don't watch TV, don't read magazines, don't even listen to NPR, create your own roadshow. The nexus of space and time where you are now is the most immediate sector of your universe, and if you're worrying about Michael Jackson or Bill Clinton or somebody else, then you are disempowered, your giving it all away to icons, icons which are maintained by an electronic media so that you want to dress like X or have lips like Y. This is shit-brained, this kind of thinking. That is all cultural diversion, and what is real is you and your friends and your associations, your highs, your orgasms, your hopes, your plans, your fears. And we are told 'no', we're unimportant, we're peripheral. 'Get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that.' And then you're a player, you don't want to even play in that game. You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.
We never will forget him, but im certain i will forget about you about 5 seconds after I type this message.
Michael Jackson did so much good in this world, he has donated incredible amounts of money to charity and struggling or sick people, he built an entire playground/amusement park for sick kids to have a childhood carnival experience, in return people took advantage of neverland and accused him of bullshit acts, just using him to get money, it seems everyone who opens their doors up in total peace there are always going to be liars and deceivers taking advantage. He has touched many lives with his music and help, he will be remembered as the king of pop, and a humanitarian.
Whoever has the nerve to label him a pedo is just being a media brainwashed fool.
"I would rather slash my wrists then ever harm a child" - Michael Jackson
Terence McKenna was obviously not an artist. If he was, he'd understand a little bit more about drawing inspiration from those who are the best in your field. How many dancers and choreographers got to be so successful at what they do because of Michael Jackson's influence? How many artists have been inspired by some of the set pieces and creative videos (and 'short-films' like Thriller)? There is a lot more to love of entertainment than just 'giving power away to icons.'
In fact, I would go so far as to say that McKenna is guilty of the same thing, accept that he draws entertainment and inspiration from other people (possibly other scholars). Does he not listen to music at all? Has he never enjoyed a movie? Has he no favorite artist? No favorite author? It's only logical that, if someone's followed the career of one of their favorite artists, for a span of almost 5 decades, they are going to be somewhat concerned over an untimely death. To say that having a favorite musical act, or to be curious as to the affairs of one of the richest, most charitable men in the world - someone who's single-handedly changed the face of modern dance - is shit brained, in itself, pretty ignorant.
