Just saw Knowing. I wouldn't exactly recommend it. I guess it was entertaining... but the plot was seriously flawed, in my opinion. It didn't seem very well thought out and the ending was just.... weird. The last half of the movie, although still sticking to the plot, seemed to take a harsh turn. So I guess it was fun just to go see a movie, however I wouldn't want to sit through it again.

The Rock - one of my all time favorite movies (and probably Nicholas Cage's best ever) - is just coming on, and I'm pretty excited about it. I haven't seen it in years.

I just finished watching the Transporter 2 and while I really liked it, the ending did not make sense to me at all.

My spoiler text box refuses to show up...

I agree. And how awesome was Ed Harris as General Hummel?? I've always loved villains who weren't all bad, and could be identified with, but he's one of the best. So damn intense.

By the way, Shred, Con Air is about to come on in just a few minutes.

And I just watched The Marine. It was ok. But seriously, more unnecessary explosions than ANY OTHER MOVIE EVER MADE!!

I think any PowerRanger movie wins that...

      Lets see...

Punisher (The one with John Travolta and Tom Jane.)

Or, the good one. I love this movie. There are so many things right with it.
Plus, you can't beat this part of the movie:

      Hot Fuzz

Also an awesome movie. I've seen it a few times, and I love it each time. ^_^

Just saw 21 and Never Back Down.

21 was good and exciting. Laurence Fishburn was great. NBD was bad, although the training scenes were pretty good.

A friend of mine and I saw Monsters vs. Aliens this weekend. It was fun and I enjoyed it. It wasn't as hilarious as some other Dreamworks movies have been, but I appreciated some of the details and the voice actors (Hugh Laurie, Kiefer Sutherland, and Stephen Colbert as the President). Overall, a 7.5/10.

Just watched American Gangster and Pineapple Express.

American Gangster was brilliant. Denzel is one of my favorite actors, and he did a great job.

Pineapple Express was definetely a dissapointment. I was expecting a Harold and Kumar type of movie, but sadly it wasn't. It actually tried to be an action movie which was really stupid. The only good part that sticks out in my mind was the fight at Red's house, that was hilarious! Danny McBride was definetley the best part about the movie.

That's odd, I didn't expect much from Pineapple Express and got a ton of laughs out of it. Maybe you have to know potheads.

I just saw Let the Right One In, and it was well above average for a vampire movie, despite spotty English dubbing (voice actors for the main characters did fine, but some of the others were not so good). I wasn't able to track down Swedish voice track + English subtitles :p

Anyway, it was a great quiet, creepy, "flirtation with the dark side" kind of film, kind of the anti-Twilight.

Just saw The Hurricane, Lakeview Terrace, Wanted, Death Race, and The Strangers. Yeah, I watch a lot of movies, deal with it

The Hurricane: One of Denzel's best roles ever, he was brilliant. Really inspiring, sad, and interesting. Great movie, check it out.

      Lakeview Terrace:
Overall a pretty good movie, Samuel L. Jackson was great. However, the ending was really anti-climactic and seemed a little rushed in my opinion.
      Spoiler for :

Wanted: Better than I expected, very well done. The effects were awesome. Looking forward to a sequel hopefully.
      Spoiler for :

Death Race: Fucking awesome movie. Tons of action and mindless violence and gore. Jason Statham is a total beast in this movie. Well acted, action sequences were very well done, the cars were amazing (especially that huge semi), and it had a satisfying ending. Check it out if you like action movies.

      The Strangers:
Started out scary, then it turned into every other slasher movie I've ever seen, disappointing. There was a great atmosphere and some scary noises, but the characters were stupid and the ending was stupid and anti-climactic.

Notorious - Actually pretty good. Great telling of B.I.G.'s life, and the controversy and conflict surrounding the rap game.

And I'm watching True Lies right now, which is the movie that made me fall in love with the Harrier jet. Also, there might have never been anything all that remarkable about Jamie Lee Curtis in all her other roles...but damn what a body.

(Not the original music to the scene, but a pretty funny mix. Haha.)

And Tia Carrera's hotness pretty much goes without saying.

I just finised A Scanner Darkly, it was pretty sweet. The ending really caught me off guard.

It is a adaptation of Philip K. Dick's novel of the same name, directed by Ritchard Linklater (the same guy who did Waking Life), and it was rotoscoped similar to Waking Life. It was about a futuristic DEA who is dealing with an drug epidemic, the drug being Substance D. The main character is one of the 'officers'. I'm not going to get any futher, but it is a good watch and on Starz or HBO on demand, if anyone has it.

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

Just finished Nausica of the Valley of the Wind, and it was amazing. The storyline is a little saccharine, but the settings alone with all of the fantastic plants and creatures and the sweet retro-future aircraft is 100% worth it.

Not even that. You just have to be able to put yourself in the perspective of these simple-minded stoners. The situation itself is funny, and you have to be able to see that the movie.

Just saw Slumdog Millionaire and Stardust. Slumdog was incredible, especially for a low-budget film - really impressed with the storytelling (how each question reflected on his life in the slums). Stardust my attention was half-in-half-out, but from what I saw it was entertaining with quite a few laughs rolled in. Not a bad storyline, either.

I watched "Boy in the Striped Pajamas(sp)" earlier this morning. It was very good but it didn't end the way I was hoping.
In fact, it was such a depressing movie, that I bought "Dead Silence" (XBox Videos). I should have read more about it before doing so. I normally stay away from ghost stories. It was still really good though it's ending sucked too. BUT, there was a twist I did NOT see coming at all which makes up for everything else.

I just saw Godzilla vs. Monster Zero.

Rock and roll, dude. Best kaiju film ever, hands down. It has King Ghidorah, Rodan, ang Godzilla. And takes place on a distant planet, with aliens and thunder.

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.
