Hahaha, I watched a movie called Redrum last night... I loved it!

It's basically the story of a couple who live a quiet and mundane life, where the husband keeps getting shit from his boss and neighbor. Then one day he snaps and starts killing people. His wife eventually joins him and their life becomes a lot more exciting after that. It's intense and funny as hell sometimes...really good flick! I recommend it.

Just saw the Hustler and Rescue Dawn.

The Hustler was until the stupid romance kicked in. Rescue Dawn was pretty good, but I'm not a fan of Christian Bale.

Saw The Boy in the Striped Pajamas last night. I really wanted to see it theatrically when it was first released, but it was never showing anywhere near me, so I had to wait for the DVD. Anyway, I thought it was really good. It has that ability of certain movies to create tension and hope that the inevitable doesn't happen even though you know it will. Thought-provoking and well-directed, I'd recommend this. 7/10

Finally got around to I <3 Huckabees--pretty funny stuff. The casting was maybe a little star-struck and less focused on getting a working ensemble, which made the whole thing a little fragmented and stilted, but I affirm the philosophy behind the movie and got a few laughs out of it.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

I just saw Wolverine. Pretty sick, had me in the xman fantasy land which I think is impressive, as most movies don't make me feel like i'm in the story anymore. Wolverine is Canadian, automatic +3 on any 1-10 ranking.

I don't think anybody disliked Wolverine; it was better than all 3 X-men's combined.

I will see Star Trek. Never got into the series beforehand, but the new movie might impress me.

I liked that one. I thought the death scene for the killer at the end was one of the best ever. I had to skip back and watch it again.

I saw it today. I wasn't overly impressed. I tried going in without too much expectation, as to not ruin it. But still... I didn't think it was anything special. I think the new upcoming Terminator movie will be way better. It looks pretty bad ass anyway.

The thing that bothered me the most about it was the crappy lighting.
I don't know if there was something wrong with the theater I was in or what. But the lights from the movie were all out of control and streaking across the screen the entire time. Sometimes even blocking out characters faces. I could not believe they even released the film that way. Then there was the obnoxious idiot sitting behind me that kept laughing, clapping, and stomping his feet over things that were not even funny.
I nearly walked out and got a ticket for the next showing. But I didn't want to waste my entire day on it.

I thought The Strangers was pretty suspenseful, but they dragged it out too long. The fact that it was something that could really happen made it kind of scary. I had some freaky dreams the night I watched it. I consider any horror movie that gives me freaky dreams, a good horror movie.

Ah, yes. I did notice that. It was a bit annoying at first, but I soon got over it. And luckily, there was no loud idiot in front of me.

I saw the first half of Yes Man... It was okay, normal for the lead actor. Could have been way worse.
      Bollocks.

Star Trek--I really enjoyed it. I've seen a lot of people complaining about the lens flares and apparently even JJ Abrams said he went overboard, but I didn't even notice them particularly. I wouldn't give anyone high marks for acting and character development, but the film succeeded well enough in pacing and spectacle to compensate. For better or worse, I was reminded more of Michael Bay's Transformers than any past Trek movie or other space-opera.

Ah, so it was the movie itself then. What a f...ing rip off. They put all these millions of dollars into it and they can't even get the lighting right? That kind of pisses me off actually. I want my six bucks back. How can you not notice long streaks of light across the screen, and big flashing blobs on peoples chests. It wasn't just a little bit, or once in a while. It was the entire time. every once in a while you would get a couple seconds of no light distortions.

Also, I thought the plot was too much like Star Trek Enterprise.

I rented "the Burrowers" on XBox yesterday and it was pretty good but I disliked the ening.

I just watched "1408" and LOVED it. It reminded me of several dream loops I've been stuck in and the end was very gratifying... but I thought for sure the tape recorder would have captured the evil from the room and carried it out.

Yeah, That's Clive Barker. I recently watched "Midnight Meat Train" It was pretty wild. I liked it.

Last night I watched "Wall-E." I really enjoyed that. I'm liking these modern day Disney cartoons more and more all the time. The computer animation looks so good. And most of the stories they are coming up with are great!
And a lot of them are in REAL D now. Making them even more fun to watch in the theater. I'm really looking forward to seeing "UP" in 3D.

I wish they would have had this kind of stuff back in my stoner days lol. I can't even imagine what "Monsters vs Aliens" would have been like high.
