      Dark Crystal Sequel

      (I searched for this and found nothing so if there is already a thread like this then...fuck you.)

      I hope they do make a sequel. there isn't much info about it, a little info at the bottom of the wikipedia page for the first movie: wiki/The_Dark_Crystal

      and there isn't much on imdb either (The Power of the Dark Crystal (2011), but it's supposed to come out in 2011.

      anyway, I don't go to the movies a lot, because so much of what hollywood puts out is fodder made for the sake of making money rather than art, but I think I would actually go to see this assuming it gets made. also assuming that a) Tim Burton has nothing to do with it, and b) it isn't all CG (the creators seem to insist it won't be: "Genndy Tartakovsky agreed to direct on two conditions: that the film would utilize live-action puppets as well as computer animation...")

      what do you think? will they actually make it? would anyone else be interested in seeing it?

      Hell yeah!!! I can hardly wait! I even have the original dark crystal novel.

      My parents took me to see that movie in the theater as a kid, loved it. Just watched it again last month on TV again.

      well you know it was made for adults tripping on acid, not children :D

      I actually didn't see it until I was about 16, but I knew if I'd seen it as a child it would have scared me and probably given me nightmares too.

      I did not know there was a novel. (you mean thees one?: (amazon) I just downloaded it here: http://www.geocities.com/lpodling/ even though it said I was not supposed to unless I had already bought it. :) I have two copies of the movie, each paid for, so I think that's fair enough.
