Is Vanilla Sky a chick flick?

I always thought it was but apparently it's to do with lucid dreaming. Now I'm a 16 year old boy so my definition of chick flick is pretty much anything were the main plot rovolves completely around a love story. Is this true with Vanilla Sky? I've watched a few good love story movies, and albiet 99.9% of movies contain some type of love story, is this one worth watching?

Just get over the notion of a 'chick flick' and watch it, it's fantastic for lucid dreaming fans. I actually recommend Abre Los Ojos, which is the original, but if you're the kind of person who hates subtitles or isn't fluent in Spanish then pass it up I guess. I much prefer the original from Spain, other people like the Americanized one better.

The story is actually told from the guy Cesar's point of view. So in the sense that there is romance, yes it's about him loving a girl. But that really just serves as the vehicle for.... the rest of the movie.

One of the best movies of all time. It proves why Tom Cruise is one of the best actors in the world. And to answer your question, no, it is not a chick flick.

I watched it when I was ill, fell asleep, and when I woke up I could feel where my arms were going to be, and that all fate was predetermined. Frightening.

Also, I didn't really feel it was much of a chick flick. Perhaps the most you could say towards that is it's got a focus on a relationship - oh, how uncommon in other genres.

When I first watched it (before I knew about lucid dreaming) I never thought of it as a chick filck. And I still don't think it is anything like a chick flick.

It is too "dark" to be a chick flick anyways.

      It's too SMART to be a chick-flick!

Unless you understand lucid dreaming or you have a very open mind, you'd probably have to watch it twice to understand it.

Chick flicks are normally far too plainly simple.

I don't understand how people think this movie is so confusing. At the very end the tech support guy explains everything plain as day. What don't you get??!

I like that movie, and don't think it's a chick flick. Being a guy I won't watch chick flicks let alone like them.

I suppose the fact that it is explained that
      Spoiler for :
may be confusing to DV members.

Other than that little thing which doesn't really matter it's a pretty good movie.
