Tell me about your favorite techno/trance music

The title speaks for itself. I'm looking for decent techno and trance music, but I seem to have hit a bit of a dead end. So, post whatever kind of trance or techno music you enjoy, if any. If you don't like these kinds of music, just post what you prefer. I can rip movies from virtually any source, so post away, good people!

      Thank you

      Also Entertainment~

Do you mean general electronic music, or actual trance?
Also please don't say 'techno' :[
Super generalization. Call it electronic, or an actual genre.

Well, again, are you looking for actual trance or just electronic stuff? What have you been listening to so far?

So far, it's mostly been trance music (which I'm getting pretty fond of, too), mostly without lyrics. Here, I'll post an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouBJTv_OqJA

This stuff is good, but I'm also looking to expand my interests. I've listened to a small amount of the T-word that is to never be mentioned, and it's been enjoyable, but nothing that really stands out. So, yeah, anything faintly resembling these are a-okay. Or, if you have something you think I'll like or should try, go ahead and post it, too. Yeah...IDK...I'm flexible.

      Thank you!

yeah there are a lot of genres/sub-genres...i'm really picky. there's a lot out there that's pretty mindless and then there's some that's super awesome.

this would be my quick walk through:

      dubstep: glyphic by boxcutter
techhouse (ambient): centigrade - evan marc
      psybient/psydm: prophetic sines - bluetech
      idm: W.I.K. - bola
      electronica/minimal techno - tulenkantaja - uusitalo

      see what you think!

      Wow, you guys are zippy!

Kinda diggin' the bluetech one. Couldn't find a youtube video for evan marc, though. Ah, the Bola is nice. Uusitalo is also nice. Thank you.

      see what you think!
Trance is in itself a sub-genre. But I've heard most of those, and they're pretty decent, but they certainly aren't trance.

I am basing these replies on the song you posted

youtube often has crappy sound quality... if you buy good stuff and play it through good speakers (or better yet, see it live) it's totally different. i love a lot of the cool vibrations you feel from loud electronic music...

      http://www.last.fm/music/Boxcutter/Glyphic?ac=boxcutter

glyphic is probably one of the best dubstep tracks ever.. oh man i love my subwoofer

      http://www.last.fm/music/Evan%2520Marc?ac=evan%20marc

the first few tracks are from the album 'emotional ecology' which is excellent.

      http://www.last.fm/music/Bluetech?ac=bluetech

there's bluetech. probability tree is one of my favorites from him as well.

O'nus: definitely like the first and third ones, and the last one is beginning to grow on me.

Cygnus, thank you for the links! Gonna have to check them out, when I have less homework... I'll try and finish it up here in about half an hour, if all goes well.

I have a Daedelus album, he's cool, but pretty off-beat. Some of his stuff is fantastic.
I've never seen him play live though, I'll check it out...
EDIT: just saw this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjZwlCbUU8M , absolutely insane. Some great manual MIDI skills there.

whoa that's very different from the stuff i saw, no-name. he did some really bass-heavy, intense glitchy stuff, and had a different controller. at one point he brought out this device that altered the modulation of some sounds based on it's pitch and yaw. nuts. whenever he got a bit downtempo i was really into it

Hmm...thus far, I've got to say that, in general, I'm fond of the stuff with zippier tempos and a generally lighter feeling to them (bouncy, fun, etc.). HOWEVER, I also like the Evan Marc that was posted above. It is nicely simple, with a great beat. Still listening to the bluetech clip, which is fairly interesting, thus far.

EDIT: I like the Bluetech bit. Very nice, interesting, and strangely soothing.

EDIT: This is probably also considered dance music, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md35E...eature=related

I love the Dream Trance melodies, like the one I posted in the hug thread.

In case you didn't see it, here it is.

EDIT: Oops, Mario beat me to it. xD
