      A Scanner Darkly

Richard Linklater is directing another film. He is directing an adaptation of Phillip K. Dick's A Scanner Darkly.

      http://www.philipkdick.com/films_scanner-061204.html says:

"Like a graphic novel come to life, A Scanner Darkly will utilize live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future. The technology was first employed in Linklater's 2001 film Waking Life and has evolved to produce even more impact and detail. "

I think this is cool though I'm not sure what it will look like. I don't think the whole film will use this effect (like Waking Life did).

"A Scanner Darkly stars Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr., Woody Harrelson and Rory Cochrane. "

      Nice cast too.

I haven't actually read the book, Im just hanging to see it because of Richard Linklater.

Wow... This I gotta see. I've recently become addicted to the Phillip K Dick books, and read A Scanner Darkly a while back. One of the reasons I researched Lucid Dreaming was from his work. He specailises in making worlds of imagination and fantasy - i think he was a heavy dreamer, although I don't think a lucid dreamer. I myself am starting to write novels, and so I thought - what better way to find new imaginary worlds than trhough dreams. When I found out about lucid dreaming I was overwhelmed, and so determined it wasn't funny.

I don't think the film could ever, ever match BladeRunner as a movie though. I've been looking for that movie on dvd everywhere but can't find it
