This movie really looks awesome. I'm gonna have to see it. Though it doesn't look at all like a traditional Sherlock Homes movie.

I'm watching it tomorrow, gonna be awesome

I thought it was great! We'll have to get it when it comes out because the audio in the theater was crappy. Sadly, I have no ticket stub from it because it was right next door to The Princess and the Frog, and we were just in time for the 7pm showing.

I have to see this movie.

Movie was kickass. That's about all that needs to be said here. Really well developed atmosphere and characters, and some really interesting scenes (ritual at beginning, and every fight scene). Really well done.

The movie was really good, I enjoyed it. Definitely doesn't beat avatar, though the plot was very well thought out, I suppose. Go see it, Tony Stark playing Sherlock Holmes is win.

It was pretty good.

Sorry people, but the real Sherlock Holmes is, was, and always will be the aging detective in the long brown jacket, and two way cap.

To be honest that was never in the books.

He only wore a hunting cap once I think.

This movie was pretty good. Although, I was extremely tired while watching it so due to my frequent zoning-outs, I can't say I got the best idea of it.

A friend said there were so many explosions and gun shots that it felt like a Nicholas Cage flick.

Noisy films are noisy and annoying, unless they should be. Sherlock Holmes should be a brain-busy and mild film. Since half the time, Sherlock Holmes was busy deducing things, which is what made it interesting. He was never a super karate person who went around punching people and breaking down doors.

No! No!!

You can't change a classic. Sherlock Holmes was loved for that very reason. We have hundreds of action/kicking/shooting/blowing up/exploding/otherwise- destroying-everything-that-exists-on-set movies. Half of which are decent. Half of those are really excellent. We don't need another one. We certainly don't need to take a really good detective story, and make into something of the afore mention genre.

Remake them again.

I personally loved it. I love how he was like half insane but yet a mastermind. It's much more exciting than a constantly calm, sane detective.

There's no denying the originals were good. I've seen a few myself. This is only a re-imagining. There's nothing wrong with that. It's been done plenty of times. To name a few recent ones; The Wizard of Oz - The Tin Man, Alice in Wonderland - Alice, Silent Hill - Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. This is no different, and until you see it, you can't just write it off as suckish because of the action. That's why only the action has been in the trailers; to draw people in, just like a lot of movies. The hope is that once they actually see it, they're surprised to find that it has the elements of the old Sherlock Holmes films. There are elements of a few, if not several, classic Holmes films in this one. The difference is there's action, and Tony Stark is Holmes.

There's really no need to be purist about this because re-imaginings will continue, and the originals will always be there for those who want to watch. This is why Turner Classic exists.

I'm on the DO NOT WANT team myself. I was excited when I saw the first posters, and highly disappointed when I saw the trailer. Yuck. What a disgrace. This is so far from the mood of the book, they could have just named the characters something else!
Also, call me extremist, but I'm bothered by an American playing Sherlock Holmes.
