Sonic Youth is quite alright. I have only heard stuff off Daydream Nation however.

      :\

Do you really have to call it experimental? 65DoS and Battles is more electronic than anything else.
      Mars Volta is hardly experimental.
And calling anything art-rock just sounds like you're jerking off to it.

      "Quite alright"?
...Understatement of epic proportions, in my humble opinion.

I would highly recommend you delve deeper. There are so many options with them. Some of my personal favorites are:

      + Dirty
      + Washing Machine
      + Sister

Or if you prefer something more mellow, Rather Ripped is really good...even though people tend to give it some flack.

Those are great. Saxon Shore is good if you like Russian Circle, as well.

Battles are great. The Mars Volta and 65daysofstatic I never got into. The Sound of Animals Fighting are ok. I still REALLY need to look into Sonic Youth.

      Maybe take a look at:
      Present (Belgium)
      Circle (Finland)
      Thinking Plague
      Imahoritsuneoyoshidatatsuya

65 DoS is brilliant-- more so with their One For All Time album. That's pretty much one of my favourite albums ever... as for the others, haven't heard a whole lot of them but Avant Garde is really cool.

All their albums are gorgeous, in their own way. Destruction of Small Ideas is the closest they get to a coherent thought process, but I adore their more electronically-centered stuff. Eastern European Dance Parties<3

The Scrybe: Natural Snow Buildings? I have not, I will look into them.

n-N: As far as experimental goes, I'm talking in terms of composition style. Their use of time signatures is what I am mainly referring to as of now.

Ardent Lost: Try to get into TMV more lol, they're epic. And Battles are just simply win.

Music with flippy time signatures? Sounds like math-rock.

Try using less Internet memes to describe your music, please.

      That is all.

edit; and for truely experimental shit, I made this thread

I wasn't discounting experimental instruments either...or any other type of avant-garde music for that matter.

Math rock tends to be death-massacre music

You should also check out A Thousand Leaves
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

Could you direct me to any math-rock that you deem too death-massacre-ish?

Doubt this counts, but I love They Mostly Come Out At Night-- the Built Upon This Earth album.
