Earthbound, and all of its trippy weirdness

Well, I finally got a hold of Earthbound. I'm past the 'tutorial' if you could call it that and exploring Onnet. I find this shack with some guys in it. Two of them say normal things, but when I talk to the other one he say's
"Ness, You're begining to look like a man. I think I really like you... You know what I mean"
Every time I talk to him he says "You know what I mean"... Earthbound never ceases to amaze me XD
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...

Trippy as all hell, and tha'ts why it's one of my favorite RPGs. You know, the things they have you name in the beginning seem like they were simply made for bad/perverted words. I always name my favorite food "ass". Then I ROFL when I get to the My Sanctuary location that says "Ness caught a whiff of ass."

LOL! I'm playing it for the first time, because I've recently become addicted to JRPGS.

It's pretty fun, make sure you talk to everyone.

The battle system is shitty though, if you're playing on an emulator you'll probably end up using turbo mode and speedup to get through the battles.

Honestly, I like the battle system. You have to have an imagination to have much fun, but its worth it.

You've hardly even played the game.

Once you get to a certain point, all the battle system is is mashing A as fast as you can to kill the monsters, so you can grind for a boss battle.

Ugh. Then I guess I'll play it for the lines and the music.

Hah, that's the reason I love the game.

All in all it's just an awesome game. I love the tad of surrealism added here and there too, like the Pencil Eraser and the Eraser Eraser shiz.

But yeah, make yourself beat it ALL. From start to finish it gets progressively more intense. Storyline wise, mostly.

I thought the ending was really creative, too, but I won't spoil it of course.

Definitely an interesting game. I think I played the Nintendo version though but never finished it, was really close. I think the funniest fight was:

^He's referring to the original Mother game that was released on the NES in Japan only, making the "Earthbound" we know on SNES "Mother 2" in Japan.

A fan translation of the NES game dubbed it Earthbound Zero, but honestly, I've never bothered to play it for one very discouraging reason: Apparently, most translated ROMs of EB0 will stop working near the end of the game, showing you a black screen of death saying "This is an illegal copy, blah blah blah, the game will now shut down." After investing that much time in a game, I'd probably toss my computer out the window after seeing that.
