Thread: NHL playoffs anyone?

Habs fan here. Amazing comeback to knock out Washington in the first round. We're giving Pittsburgh a run for their money now too... Too bad we only got a day's break between rounds, our guys are playing exhausted. Hard to believe the top 3 teams in the East got knocked out in the first round and the bottom 3 are still there.

Also my money is on the Canucks, sorry .

Great comeback from the Hawks tonight in pretty much a must win game, look for this to be a great series! Halak has been tearing it up for Montreal, and I'd love to see them knock of Pittsburgh! I'm sure the NHL is pissed that Ovechkin is out!

What...Habs are not giving Pens a run for their money. Game 1 was all Pens, game 2 Pens fell into the Habs game and lost due to it. It wont be an easy series but Pens have not been having a hard time playing you guys. Montreal likes to sit back and allow long shots on Halak and they clear 2nd chances and capitalize on the other teams mistakes. Pens are a road team anyway. Solving halak requires constant traffic every single time in the offensive zone or he will eat everything up because he is playing hot and the reason why the Habs made it to the 2nd round.

In game 1 the Habs were exhausted, they had played a game 7 only two days before and a game 6 two days before that, the Pens had almost a week off. Even then, we outscored the pens during 5 on 5 play. We played smarter in game 2, took fewer penalties and went 100% on PK. A lot of credit goes to the Montreal D too, not just Halak. These guys were blocking 40+ shots per game against the Caps. We completely shut down Malkin and Crosby in game 2 and you could tell they were getting frustrated. Montreal likes to play mind games and get under the opponent's skin, ask the Caps who only had 3 goals in the last 3 games. Markov's loss was huge though, thank god Subban is stepping up...

Anyways we're the definite underdog in the series and we're heading back to Montreal at a game apiece, I'll probably be able to hear the roaring at the Bell Centre from my place...

Vancouver and Montreal all the way, sorry Milkandapples Sens are already out, but, hoping that both Montreal and Vancouver advance through Canadian teams for the Win!

Pens win game 3 2-0 in Montreal and take series 2-1.

4-0 on the road.

I don't really watch hockey all that much, but I certainly enjoy watching some Stanley Cup action.

Gah, Habs did pretty well last night, lost on a damn power play goal... Had we kept them scoreless they would have been shitting bricks until the end of the series.

today the commentator on versus said "protect the biscuit" during the bruins game (in reference to the puck). first time i've heard that. i laughed.

Two tripping calls missed by the ref with two Pittsburgh goals right after, unfuckingbelievable...

Habs won a game they had NO BUSINESS winning thanks to Halak, and crappy goaltending yet again by Fleury, and Pens letting Habs stand around in this series. I dont think Pens have a shot anymore in this series...we SUCK at home, and our crowd is dead all the time and Halak is a freak in net.

I HATE Halak! well, only if my team plays him. What a fluke he is...i know it takes a hot goalie to go far but JESUS CHRIST is he overachieving BIG TIME!

I feel you man, my teams have always been denied by superb goaling performances. Tim Thomas, Cam Ward, Dominic Hasek, Marty Biron in the Olympics... gah feels so good to have a good goalie for once.

Montreal needs some consistent offense if we are to finish this series strong though, we're not gonna keep getting lucky with 4 shots per period...

Well his D isn't even giving him a chance. I think the Hawks have 4 or 5 goals on the powerplay tonight, including 5 on 3's.

I like Luongo, he was solid during the Olympics. The refs are a little harsh tonight but Vancouver pretty much dug its own hole.
