How exactly? You're either born straight or gay. That's like saying hanging around black people will make you black, or hanging around tall people will make you tall, or hanging around smart people will make you smart.

I wish I could get taller from hanging out with tall people. It was kinda weird being the shortest person in the drumline back in high school marching band.

Children get taller and they usually hang around taller people.

      Take that, agent of homosexuality!

Actually we made a very short, linear trip starting at when you said something that didn't make sense and arriving at where the rest of the forum noted your nonsense. It seems to me that if people could learn to be attracted to their own sex that most of them would end up bisexual.

But that is how sexuality works. It works that way by the simple fact that some people have those types of attractions. It's an objective fact. You would be lying to them to teach them that "boy likes girl" is the only way it happens.

And of course the other possibility you seem to be ignoring is that they try it and find out they don't like it. Your entire argument is just a baseless fear that everyone (and more specifically, YOU) will "catch gay." Good news; You can stop worrying. It isn't contagious. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that a person's upbringing can have some effect on their sexuality, but I think your concerns of "gayness spreading" are at the very least greatly exaggerated. Words like "promoting" and "encouraging" are not really the right words, I don't think. It would be very strange to hear someone say "Boy, it sure is great being gay. Everyone should be gay!" That's as objectionable as "Boy, it sure is bad to be gay. Everyone should be straight!" It's not good or bad. It's just a matter of what you like. If it isn't hurting anyone, then what's the issue? Why is it not okay? I think we should start worrying about the birth rates when there's an actually realistic chance of it becomming a problem.

      You know...

      like it is right now

      being too high

      as you already acknowledged.

Also, comments like "people aren't supposed to reproduce that way" are basically pointless. Most everyone aims to not reproduce. As though when you are not properly reproducing you are failing the species. But is that really your argument? Are you against, for example, sugical proceedures designed to intentionally render someone sterile?

LOL! I think I missed that: "people aren't supposed to reproduce that way." Priceless.

Cause I pretty much agree with him on that one. Getting pregnant by letting some other guy blow his load in your ass is a huge problem. Happens all the time. It's a terrible way to reproduce. My gay roommate had to get an abortion just last week in fact. I highly recommend against reproducing by engaging in homosexual acts.

I think that the people who worry that if they try gay sex that they will like it and become gay, must be somewhat gay. Speaking as a heterosexual, I have no desire to even try gay sex. There is no way that I will like it. If you think that someone can influence you to try gay sex, you are gay or bisexual. If you think that there is a possibility that you will like it and turn gay, you already are bisexual or gay. The only way someone can turn gay is if they are latently gay already, but haven't come out of the closet to themselves.

Hello, I am pansexual. I am attracted to all genders and sexes but I especially like ladies!~

I have turned Mark, Akono, Spartiate, InvisibleWoman, and all other chat regulars gay, as well as my real life friends.

Would anyone here like to be my friend and become gay? You'll be bumpin' butts or bumpin' rugs in three days or less, guaranteed!

(This is a limited time offer as I plan on becoming straight by the end of February)

      I have mixed views.
I think peers CAN and DO influence certain behaviors... but I never thought "gayness" would be one of those things. Until I actually listened to my kids. My 15 year old daughter is in High School. My 14 year old is in Middle School. My daughters NEVER agree lol but they do agree that "being gay and bi-sexual are [currently] trendy." Every few weeks one or another of their friends are "gay" and in relationships then they switch back.
Several of their male friends even wear makeup. And we live in a VERY small town.
I drove home one such boy one evening. They had been hanging out at another friends house and my 15 yo put makeup on him.
After I dropped him off I couldn't help but ask: "Does his mom and dad live together... Is his dad around... is he going to get in trouble for wearing makeup?" Stereotypically, in my very limited experience, father figures tend to be much more sensitive to such things. Dad wasn't in the picture, completely, but was more accepting than mom. That surprised me in a good way.

I think this has more to do with them being teenagers. There were a couple of girls in my class who went through a kind of lesbian phase, though I always got the impression that they did it to mess with other people's heads, rather than gain attention/actually being lesbian. According to their facebook profiles they're straight, but then, so am I. About boys wearing make-up, that's not really gay, that's just weird

I myself am 15, going on 16. I'm straight, and a few of my friends are gay or bi. But that doesn't make the rest of us think "that's cool" and then join in. A couple of girls I know have made out playing spin the bottle, but that's as far as it went. They're all on a hunt for boys actually. A bit of lesbian action doesn't make you a lesbian, just really drunk and looking for attention, especially since they plastered the photos all over facebook.

As for boys wearing make-up, I only know one guy (a good friend actually) who wears a bit of eyeliner, but to be honest he's a bit of a man-whore (with girls) so makeup doesn't make boys gay, it's just personal preference. He only ever wears it when playing gigs with his band.
