For all the vaccination "skeptics" (morons)

Check out this this graph of whooping cough rates around San Francisco counties. Marin (the richest county in California), has the highest personal belief vaccine exemption rate. They also have whooping cough rates not seen in over 50 years.

Funny, coz I just heard someone mention having whooping cough in a thread on these forums yesterday I think.

I'd've thought they'd've given up the ghost after the bird flu jabs failed to (kill/mentally debilitate) (huge social group X/everybody) and nobody ended up in (death camps/slavery) to the glee of the (NWO/facists/socialists).

The flu shot actually sort of is bullshit. It doesn't do any harm to get one, but it isn't the most beneficial thing in the world for a person with a healthy, strong immune system.

And this topic is about MMR vaccines, not the flu or flu vaccines.

Maybe moron is a little harsh, but his post made no sense and isn't related to the thread.

I think the suspicion of vaccines arose when a few people have had adverse reactions to them which is inevitable with any medicine. Take antibiotics for instance, they save millions of lives each year and yet there is a small minority of people who have adverse reactions to them but this does not mean antibiotics are "poison" or whatever anti-vaccine fanatics believe. I dont personally get vaccines every year (not because I believe in the NWO) because I am young, have a good diet, and exercise regularly, I get sick once a year(not including headaches) so I don't find it necessary. Im the kind of person whose whole family gets sick with the flu but I dont, its always been that way.

No, the suspicion arose because of a study by a doctor correlation vaccines with autism. Of course in less than a month it was shown that he fabricated results, but the damage was done. But still, only the stupidest of the stupid believe vaccines cause more harm than good.

I always thought the skepticism came from dick-over-brain thought processes after people saw Jenny McCarthy rambling about vaccination-induced autism.

I don't think vaccines are poison, I just don't think they're necessary for everyone. I haven't had a flu vaccine in probably 10 years, and I haven't had the flu in... Hmm, about 10 years. *shrug* I get sick once or twice a year (not counting the common cold) and 99% of the time its a sinus infection due to allergies.

As for Bird and Swine flu, I didn't really buy into that. Yes, people died from it, but I didn't personally see a greater chance of death than with any other type of flu. And Swine flu isn't a new thing, I believe there was a vaccine for it in the 70s.

Now, I have a friend who swore up and down to me that the Bird/Swine flu vaccines contained antifreeze/mercury/a tracking device/whatever undesirable thing and that the vaccine was tested on 300 people in a third world country and 299 (or some unreasonable number) of them died after receiving it.. I think that's a bunch of horseshit and fearmongering, but I also think the whole idea of there being a pandemic because of those "new" types of flu that have been around for 40 years was also paranoid fearmongering. Also note that I could only find I think one reference to the testing she referred to, and it actually stated that of the 300 people about 21 of them died, and that some died of old age or a completely different disease, etc.

I must be a moron too, maybe you shouldn't have just said "vaccines" in the subject line. Do you even know what MMR means? You mentioned whooping cough (pertussis), which is not included in an MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine so I'm not sure if I have to start tossing insults myself to make my point... I actually haven't heard of people being skeptical (recently) about MMR vaccines and I know a few conspiracy nuts. Maybe I tuned that one out.

The trick is to get everyone else to get the vaccination and then you won't need it.

Actually, no. That is a completely viable way of staying reasonably safe. Because if everyone else is vaccinated, the disease won't spread through the population, so your chances of catching it will be slim.

Is it reasonable? Well, it makes sense. It's based on reason, so yes. But it is only reliable if a big enough portion of "everyone else" does get the vaccination. You can't really count on that.

edit: That is, you can't count on that with you kids. I went that route with the swine flu, though :P

vaccines and antibiotics are like apples and oranges. There was a time when everyone got antibiotics no matter what kind of infection they had....which is totally wrong, because you cant fight viruses with them. But the only thing I can really think of about vaccines are those cases where people are given too many different ones at a time. As a child...they can end up with some serious health issues if they get too much of a cocktail of them. As for the flu shot...it's really a gimmic...they're just using stuff based on last years flu in hopes that it will prevent next years flu.

Bottom line....some vaccines are amazing....HEP B....measles mumps rubella....all that jazz. But some are crap....like the flu vaccine...which is just some retroactive patch. Oh....and small pox...I remember I was given that vaccine in the military only to find out it does nothing for the lab created "white powder" version.

I think there are two issues, vaccines in general which are good and very useful, and flu vaccines which suck and don't do anything.

No, you don't have to put it all in the title I was just saying. In fact I read every post except skipped over the ones where you started insulting people because I didn't pay attention to the name on the post and figured it was just some troll stopping by. You have to make the train of thought before we can follow it, no one is going to make it for you. My point is you never said anything about MMR vaccines until you decided to call that guy a moron, which is probably why almost no one else has mentioned them either.

I think I'm gonna make a topic that says "lets talk about cars" and tell everyone why I like Chevys in the OP then after everyone gives their opinion on different makes I'm going to say no this thread is only about Fords you're all morons.

Healthy people don't need them, but elderly, young, and sick sure do. Also depends on the type of flu.

I know some one who dies because she got the flu and her mom didn't believe in vaccines. However she was a sick girl already and had chrones desease and previous liver transplant. Healthy people don't need it. I get a flu for about a day with little symptoms so it would be superfluous for me to get a vaccine for one. Everything is relevant.

Her mum should be in prison. It pisses me off that she's clearly too fucking stupid to ever realise that the death of her daughter was a self inflicted wound.

Why? Normally we prosecute parents whose stupidity leads to the death of their child. Rightly so. Such morons deserve no less.

If people want to kill themselves by rejecting western medicine, I say let them, the world will do just fine without such stupid people. But when they force their own ignorant and foolish decision upon a third party, that is completely unacceptable. They can and should be held responsible.
