I love Jon Stewart. I like Colbert a little more though. I watch both shows religiously. |

I saw that actually. I can't believe people like Bill O' Reilly actually believe the stuff that they say. Absurd. |
|
Yeah, that is why whenever people start pissing Bill O'Reilly he threatens to just throw them off his show. I think he knows that the right wing is not completely logical and that when people start chanting logic to him, he starts to look really stupid. |

This is super old. |

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
Omg, I just looked up who won the debate. Even the deepest parts of the deep south new O'Reilly looked stupid. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
No, that image was from Bill O'Reilly's website. |

Oh, yeah, it may currently be hosted by other places, but it originally came from the Fox poll. |

You guys aren't actually siding with John Stewart are you? Common VISITED a convicted murderer's house! |
|
Surrender your flesh. We demand it.
Common believed the "convicted murder" was a racial conviction like Hurricane Carter. Did you watch the clip? Whether or not that was the case is not relevant, his beliefs are what's relevant. Like he said, Dylan also visited a convicted murderer. |

Common is known more as a poet than a rapper. |
|
Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
The bulk of Common's work falls under Concious Rap (or Socially Concious Hip Hop, whichever you prefer, which is "a sub-genre of hip hop that focuses on social issues. It is not necessarily overtly political, but it discusses social issues and conflicts. Themes of conscious hip hop include religion, aversion to violence, culture, the economy, or simple depictions the struggles of ordinary people") and he's regarded as one of the more intelligent entertainers of today. This isn't Eazy E we're talking about here (who, interestingly enough, was also invited to the White House a while back), this is a guy who used to go by the stage name "Common Sense." |
|
Discussing with Bill must be so frustrating. Stewart kept saying that Common thought the woman was innocent, thus he is celebrating her supposed crime, but Bill just completely ignored that and kept repeating it, every single time. It's basically a matter of "keep telling lies, eventually people will believe them". |

Srsly Jesus Christ. Did you see him on the Daily Show last night? He's still acting like he deserves a smaller tax burden than his wealth control. It's pretty fucking simple, if your class controls 40% of the wealth, your class should be paying 40% of the taxes. |
|
Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
Yeah, a flat tax benefits the rich. If you take 10% of everyone's income, that's not fair to the bottom. You think those making $30,000 can afford $3000 in taxes? Certainly not, at least not easily. Think those making 50 million can afford to pay $5 million in taxes and not even feel it? You bet you're ass. Flat tax benefits the rich. |
|
I wasn't suggesting a flat tax. I'm suggesting a sliding scale based on control of wealth. |
|
Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.
Flat consumption tax anyone? I'd rather be taxed when I actually spend the money, rather than never ever get it in the first place. It could make up for a lot of the income tax inequalities even on a graduated income tax. |
