He's pretty much the only republican that I like who is running but in this video are a couple of examples of when the media kind of... doesn't respect and/or ignore him.
Feel free to debate whether or not he will make a good president anyway. I disagree with him on things like education, but I would still pick him over Romney/Perry/Cain/etc.
It was the same in 2008, only worse. They would actually remove him from online polls if he was doing too well. Now they at least begrudgingly admit he's running.
Ron Paul is and always will be disregarded by the majority of voters as a "crackpot" despite the handful of his undeniably great ideas. Definitely voting "Yes".
For the most part the media ignores Ron Paul but what I cant believe is that anyone really still relies on News Corporation networks for factual information. I think what is really being ignored is the fact that that he claims to be a strict constitutionalist but he doesn't believe in separation of church and state, wants to ban abortion by overturning Roe vs Wade, supports Israeli occupation of Palestine, and wants to end foreign aid.....did you guys want to talk about that at all? He has some fairly interesting ideas regarding the economy so everyone thinks the sun shines out of his ass.

That's kind of skewing his viewpoints a bit. He tries very hard to remain consistent. He's so consistent he actually comes off a little disagreeable sometimes, I'll admit that. You say he wants to overturn separation of church and state, but that's just not true, he just doesn't think the feds should be going out of their way to enforce secular ideals upon state law. You say he wants to overturn roe vs wade, but really he supports allowing states to make their own decision in regard to abortion. You say he supports israeli occupation of palestine when in fact he would stop giving israel weapons and money to oppress the Palestinians. He's getting as much attention as a novelty deserves. He's probably getting more than Ralph Nader, the coverage seems fair to me.
You really shouldn't listen to those online polls. Ron Paul's presence is very concentrated within the net, and frequently people in the online community spam him up. Look at poll taken from a representative sample in the real world.
Okay lets look at the polls from the 'real world'. He keeps winning or coming in second place in most of the straw polls that involve people only allowed to vote in person as well, which shows he is doing very well. Unless you think Ron Paul supporters can also divided them self and then register to vote in multiple states and teleport across the country too.Quote:

I'll admit I did not know he said that, and it seems pretty inconsistent and vote pandering. But maybe that's just because I think a separation of church and state is integral to the protection of religion and as fundamental as the bill of rights.

I don't blame you for not being American. Some people suggest that he really should be running as an independent or some other third party, but if that happened he would be getting even less attention because the media/sheeple seem to only want a republican or democrat and no third party. Since he leans a little more right, he is running as a republican. At one meeting hosted by Fucks, the moderator basically asked Paul why is he even running as a Republican because he stands out against the other candidates.Quote:

I know it may seem... out there. But I read from a post on another website that the reason why the media won't give him attention is because he doesn't want to support Israel anymore. And there does so happen to be a lot of Jewish people in the media. I don't know if that's true but it is something to think about.

The reason people defend him so strongly is because the complaints against him are usually nit picking stupid stuff. Some times stuff that doesn't even have a relevance to any of his policies. Usually the small complaints don't even remotely compare to say the collapse of the entire US economy, which he is the only one even addressing the issues. He is the only politician who seems to even understand the issue. You have to look at the big picture.

Ignore him, even though his ideas are what we need, and then use those ideas to get votes, and forget those ideas once elected to continue "business as usual."
I think your post should be changed from "Is Ron Paul being ignored" to "Why is Ron Paul being ignored?" The answer to the thread is evident, but the WHY is a wide variety of reasons ^.^

It CAN be argued that he's not being ignored, but it cannot be argued that he gets the SAME amount of coverage. He has well-surpassed Bachmann and Gingrich in terms of money and polling, yet he's rarely covered.
